Turbo'd without a Tuner?

Did I hose myself or what? I have a built engine all the goodies and getting ready to pop on a GReddy TT kit. I have a UTEC. Problem is I have no tuner in the area...

There is one tuner mainly playing with hondas and a "couple of skylines" but their experience is with AEM equipment and they have not tuned a 350z that has been turbo'd

Question is can I get some base maps from a tuner (do they sell them, give them, etc...) or other members on the forum or am I driving to a tuner to get this done?

Thanks!

Where are you located?

I am in the same exact situation man. I can install the damn kit easily i just can't find anyone to tune my car. There is one shop here that tunes Utec's but i would rather someone that is experienced in tunning both the utec and the Z.

You could always trailer it to a tuner.

+1 and thatīs the fact which sucks most :(
germany sucks

Yeah, you guys might have to fly someone in or trailer it somewhere. Crappy but still cheaper than blowing up and starting over

Yes, in Idaho. Trying to find the closest tuner to me. I hooked up with somebody in OR that sounds like a rock star but tunes with GReddy... maybe i'll sell the UTEC and go to an E-Manage Ultimate. If anybody knows a good UTEC tuner in CO, UT, OR, or WA lemme know.

You know Unichips US headquarters are in Oregon. You could spring for their Unichip Q which would be better then an Emanage Ultimate and they could do the tuning.

Take the ride from here to Forged. It will be worth your trip. Its only like 7 hours there.

doesnt world one tune UTEC? they are in Seattle.

edit: they do tune UTEC and they are in Kent, not Seattle (same difference).

depending on where you are in Idaho, it could be a 6-8 hour drive.

Go to the TXS website and look under the software/manuals heading. Find UTEC/Delta Ems on the list and click the 350Z option. On this page you will find base maps for several of the popular aftermarket turbo kits. The map should run rich and have slightly low timing, but this isnt guaranteed.

The one problem I just noticed with this is that the TXS map for the greddy kit is for 750cc injectors. Dunno if it will work or not. You should be able to make some references by looking at the other maps though, the Turbonetics one is for stock injectors, but the spool time etc. is different on each kit. Good luck! Any good tuner should be able to take a look at your system and figure it out in an hour or two, if not less. Just give them the manual and they should be able to do it

HPF are crazy with AEM .. they even get AEM to build them custom ECU's for their Turbo E46 M3 Kit

thats a great idea George.. actually if you get HPF to do an AEM for you.. they might do an official one for the Z.. they actually had AEM come out and do design work and programming.. these guys are tight with AEM
