dyno'd my 03 350z today.

I went to a dyno day today along with a fellow my350z member. Car put down 257hp and 238tq on a dyno jet. My mods are pop charger and spacer. Everything else is 100% stock. I wanna know if its worth getting a tune? I don't mind spending 550 bucks to get a few more HP. Sorry everything is together since I'm posting from my phone.

I no absolutely nothing about dyno's and I usually am on other parts of this forum and just happened to see this, I also have an 03 with those exact mods. Those seem like really really good numbers. How much did it cost to dyno your car? Would like the chance to dyno mine.

It was $30 for 2 pulls and afr readout with a bbq meal. I was impressed with the numbers. I thought I would put 230whp or so. I made a thread a while back about my z being fast for a 03 and I just got flamed lol.

Those are rather high numbers for a DE. As far as getting a tune for a pop charger and a spacer, not a clue.

There are lots of before and after dyno tune charts here. Why not take a look and see if the dollar/horsepower value is good for you.

Oh I am sure that it is. Show us here: https://my350z.com/forum/drag/233840...ons-stock.html

What does a stock Z make on that dyno? How did other stock cars do at this dyno day?

+1... Each dyno is different. Unless you are looking for a variance in power after doing a mod, a dyno pull by itself means nothing.

If there were any stock Zs there that day, comparing your run to their's is what really matters.

Regarding a tune... What was your air fuel ratio for the run... Do you have a dyno graph to post up?

A tune is an amazing add-on. I'd get one, for sure. But with it, I highly recommend replacing the cats (preferably with Motordyne's new ART Pipes) and getting a nice true dual exhaust. Then tune it.

i totally agree with you on some dynos reading high. my numbers seem more like dyno pack numbers. One of our members was there with his 05 z (matavis) is his name on here i think. he dyno'd his pretty much stock Z.

If he wants he can shim in and post his numbers . his car also by FARruns so much smoother then mine. there was also a couple of full bolt on g35 6 speed coupes. I do have a graph but comp is down from virus from this site. so im using my ps3. my afr was at 14 then slowly drop around 13 at higher rpms.

Yeah, same dyno, same day, I was there. My car only put down the 238 whp. That's about the same as it was when I first dropped in the MREV2 style homemade plenum. It was also on a Dynojet. Here is a link to my first dyno.
https://my350z.com/forum/members/mav...y-own-z33.html

I think b00b00's plenum spacer and JWT combo gets a lot more air than my homemade MREV2. But still, if all things were equal, I am not sure if he should have made that much more power over mine, but it happened. His car pulled mine when it was stock.

If he posts his dyno chart, you will see that he has a second torque spike (like VTEC just kicked in yo!!!). The first one looks normal at around 4,500 RPM and the second time the torque curve raises is just after 5,500, though not as dramatic as the first. Very strange. This second torque curve so late in the powerband really kicks the HP numbers up, and pulls his Z ahead of mine during freeway pulls.

Both our AFR were pretty much the same, starting at 14 and taking a linear drop down to 12.5.
