Default Osiris Reflash, bone stock g35 sedan

Hey guys and girls, I thought I would do some sharing of my own. Ive been talking about getting the Uprev program for awhile. I have been researching, chatting with certain people, and seeing alot of great reviews.

Yesterday, I got my done at GRD(Genesis Racing and Development) in Illinois. Those guys are great!!!!!

I have a 2004.5 G35 BO Sedan with a 6speed, with no mods except suspension work.... here are the results(pic attached)

I must say, the change is definately noticable. Runs much much smoother, pulls alot harder throughtout the whole powerband, and for some odd reason, its seem quiter(sp?) maybe just the fact that everything is running more soundly....

Either way, Im very excited, Im absolutely glad I did it.... And now everyone can see that there are definately gains to be made on a fully stock set-up!!!

Thanks for looking, hope everyone enjoys...

You dyno'd more torque than horsepower on a DE. Hah...that's a first.

Thanks Mike, Im pretty impressed myself. I wasnt thinking I would gain much considering I am stock. I actually was 50/50 on what was going to happen, I figured because Im stock I would gain maybe 5hp/tq but a smoother rpm range. But I also think my car is somewhat of a factory freak, kinda like yours. You gained alot from very little mods, and I think mine will do the same...

Like what 03threefiftyz said, its been done before. The DE motor is pretty much the torqueist(sp?) of the VQs. If you notice on the rev-up, HR, even the 3.7L all have very similar torque 270-280ft lbs, they just more HP in the top end....

Well, my feelings on headers are well know, but tomei's are about as good as it gets for DE's. I probably would have started with the unpolished art pipes and exhaust then done headers, but that's just my .02.

Yeah, your hatred for headers is pretty obvious. Lol. Though Gabe did get a good amount of power everywhere with the Tomeis before the cams went in.

I'm not gonna put the headers on until I get the rest of my exhaust. I knew Gabe wasn't going to need them anymore and I offered to buy them. I know Gabe take care of his stuff very well and they'd be cheaper than buying new.

I understand what you saying Mike...I just couldn't pass them up that's all.

I have 5 maps...
GRD custom tune
Valet
Stock
Race gas map, 100oct
Antitheft

Chicagoz members get discounts on certain tunes, I paid $550. My car is bone-stock so a lot of tuning time wasn't needed in my situation...

Impressive gains optimizing the stock setup.

Do you have a chart of the AFR?

What was the difference b/w the 100 map and the 93 map? Just curious.

^the only thing that can be gained is to advance timing to account for the slower burn of a race fuel (or WI). Just need to be careful with it.

Yep just like rcdash said, more agressive timing. I don't plan on using 100oct, not until I build my motor. Even then I may not, at $6/gallon...that's quite a hefty price to pay for a few more HP. When I 1st went in to get tuned, I thought I was only getting 3 maps. But they said 5 maps, I said ok.

I do have an AFR chart, for some reason I can't load it. I will try again later today. Basic rundown....from
2000-3400rpms 13.8 to 13.0
At 3500 it shoots up to 14.3-14.0 all the way to 5500rpms. Then it slowly went back down to 13.0 at 6500rpms. This was the stock AFRs...Pretty much running lean from 3500-5500rpms.

GRD tuned it to 12.8-13.0 from 3000 to redline and I believe they advance my base timing 2*, set at 14*btdc.

14 isn't advanced 2* from base. I know via cipher base is 16 +/-2 (you can bump/decline timing up or down two). A/F is about the same as my car....though mine is a little fatter earlier on.

Also, I filled mine with 100 two times prior to going to the track (along with bumping the timing +2) and saw a small decrease in mph both times in comparison to other runs at the same DA. My car is pretty dead on consistent....so a consistent drop in mph tells me not much or a lose is happening.

I'm sure GRD mess with my timing aliitle bit. They didn't say anything about advancing my timing, I just happen to notice a samll difference on Greddy Infotouch meter. Before the tune idle was constantly around 16-17*, now it sits at 14-15*, sometimes touches 13*.

By a little fatter, you mean alittle richer in the lower rpms?

At the beginning of the chart, its at 13.8 at 2000rpms then it levels around 12.8-13.0 all the way across. I'm sure my description is not the greatest. I'm going to try again to upload the chart...
