Road Tax not paid - save to buy?
Hello ladies and gentlemen,
My 350z roadster has been totaled by an idiot here in Czech Republic. The insurance company has upto 3 months to give me the money, so in the meantime I want to buy something a little bit cheaper. I found a BMW Z4 3.0. Its sold on UK registration plates RK04WXB. I checked online and there is no MOT and no Road Tax paid.
My question - is it safe for me to buy this car in Czech Republic and register with Czech goverment? I am familiar with Czech laws and procedures, but I dont want to wake up to a GB High Court Enforcement Agent clamping my car here. If the UK road tax is unpaid, who will be responsible? The original owner, or me? Who will they go after?
