The Design:

The SOHO Motorsports 350Z and G35 Exhaust System is comprised of 3 sections all uniquely designed to allow the exhaust gases leaving the manifold to smoothly and gradually meet and join to form a very laminar flow. With exhaust gases leaving the headers it flows directly into our straight test pipes and into our uniquely designed y-pipe. Our y-pipe collector is what sets the SOHO Motorsports exhaust apart from the rest. With our unique cone-taper style collector the exhaust gases from each bank merge smoothly together and exit our single exit exhaust in the most efficient manner possible.

The unique collector in our y-pipe helps minimize any turbulence that may occur as the two exhaust flows merge together into one. Many y-pipes on the market today just force the two flows together creating excessive turbulence and therefore decreased power. This clumsy transition is also one of the main causes for the dreaded rasp on VQ's. On the SOHO Motorsports exhaust system the gases come together into one stream as the piping diameter gradually increases with the use of our unique cone that increases from 2.5 inches in diameter to 3 inches in diameter over an 8 inch span. With this design the inlets side of the y pipe is 2.5 inches in diameter and the exit is 3 inches in diameter. Allowing the pipe to remain at 2.5 inches in diameter until the merger and then gradually increasing the overall diameter of the pipe to 3 inches creates a vacuum effect making exhaust gases reach a state of higher pressure at the beginning of the collector and in turn a lower pressure at the larger end. As with anything in dynamics, the path of least resistance is the path best chosen and with the overall diameter of the collector gradually increasing with the use of our unique cone the exhaust gases will tend to bring the higher state gases into the lower state therefore gradually merging in the smoothest transition possible as it exits the y-pie into our amazing sounding single exit cat back exhaust.

Speaking of just that we just posted this on the other thread : Kevin, My350Z member: Yellowfever won our cat back exhaust at ZDayz and came by on his way home to NY to get his brand new SOHO Motorsports exhaust and also y-pipe installed along with a dyno tune on uprev. Check out the photos of the exhaust bolted onto the car and be on the lookout for the dyno video soon.

Yes all components are sold seperately as well but we strongly suggest using the full system for best performance, sound and best bang for the buck. I will be shooting you a message shortly, thanks for the question.

What's the decibel level of this exhaust? I never got a chance to listen to it at Zdayz.

The best deal is the full SOHO Motorsports Exhaust System package via the group buy at $1499 plus shipping for the test pipes, y pipe and single exit exhaust but if you want just the y pipe and exhaust we will do that package as a pseudo group buy option for $1250 plus shipping. As far as dyno results we encourage any customers to compare between their exhausts to ours, I think most will be pleasantly surprised (if tested in a controlled environment since tunes can make a large difference). To be completely honest we arent quite sure what the DB level is. We have used it on forced induction applications on our cars for the past year and have had no illegal db enforcement at tracks with specific rules against them but we dont have a specific set number for either application of the exhaust on f/i or n/a. But having said that, we will attempt to get those asap for those that are curious. Thanks for the question.

I ask because I know some of us who track the car may have issues. I had a single exit exhaust once that registered around 93dB. I was pushing the limits. lol

Two questions, in the vid you posted, what manifold/header was on the car? Also, is their a provision or option to run a silencer included?

In the videos that have been posted, both vehicles have stock manifolds and we do not have an option to run a silencer.
