the chassis are yokomo and tamiya 4WD electric cars. using drift tires.

we're using brushless motors but that's really overkill in terms of power but great for the run times needed when we do demos or competitions.

unfortunately a lot of people think that these are cheap radio shack cars and are some what turned away by their high price.

for about 200 dollars you can get a drift specific chassis from yokomo and thats not including the electronics and motor which could go for another 200 dollars.

but like any other hobby fun outweighs the cost.

you can check out our site. www.groovydrift.com

you can also see some of the D1 replicas www.yokomousa.com

here's some r/c drifting in the dark.

Yep, my mechanical inabilities are become more and more obvious. I wouldn't mind buying one straight out, lol.

i saw these at formula D and it looked like they had plastic tires.

howd you get some of them to throw up smoke?

Those are probably nitro powered RC cars. If they weren't such money pits I'd get one again :D
