BBC's Top Gear 350Z Review
http://www.funpedia.net/vids/topgear_video/064.zip
I don't know what to think - he thinks the VQ is French and engine is this car's weak point. I am tempted to produce a parody video of this with my buddies :icon18: |
is this the vid that he gives the z a C-minus? what an idiot.. i guess he is used to driving all those ferraris, lambos, and koenigseggs .. of course its weak next to those cars
|
I must have missed that one. That guy is an axe wound. He has his head up his arse!
|
He gives the 350Z "3 out of 10."
I was really surprised to see him go as far as he did in bashing the Z as he is usually pretty respectable in reviewing cars. |
This has been posted so many times. That guy is a real jerk off.
|
Oops, my apologies - never saw it before.

I typically like material from Top Gear -- this review was quite useless.
Basically, they put Jerry Clarkson's over-opinioned *** in a 350Z to review it. The ONLY statements I can actually somewhat agree with him on are: - The motor being the weakest part of the new Z in terms of potential and design - The build quality of SOME of the interior parts are a bit chinsey, but they are not horrible. Besides the fact that most US domestic cars have a MUCH worse interior design/build quality, but the Z is a bargain of a car. You simply cannot have everything, and the Z is *exactly* what it was many years ago -- a very good bargain. I am surprised that there were Z enthusiasts there for him to interview when his only goal was to put down the car. Its not like you're commenting on aspects that are truly disappointing, he was commenting on things that were untrue. With my review, I felt the Z was extremely light and nimble considering how much it weighs -- it has a really nice suspension design, the weak part of the Z is its OEM tires. Even the OEM brakes are acceptable, while the optional Brembo's are just awesome. How can someone comment on the rear strut tower bar? Its as if the engineers should have made it removeable so that idiots like Jeremy Clarckson wouldnt complain. Seriously, while MOST cars DONT come with a rear strut tower bar -- and many enthusiasts ADD parts like this .. the Z comes factory with one and people complain. I think the WORST part about his review is that he doesnt DRIVE the car, someone needs to fire his stupid *** and put Tiff behind the wheel. Stop sending an amateur to do a man's job. Whats even worse is he complained about the noise AND the sound of the motor/exhaust? Are you kidding me? Cars like the new M3 have a horrible exhaust note, the VQ motor sounds melodious and is one of the nicest OEM exhaust notes I've ever heard. What a poor poor review. Thank god for Best Motoring videos, they are SO unbiased and SO under-exaggerated compared to this crap. - m |

i would like to ***** slap this guy

Everyone else can't stop talking about how great the 3.5 V6 is. Look how many cars (and trucks!) Nissan/Infiniti puts it in. It's so smooth, versatile and powerful and sounds great too!

I love the fact that they included one from the factory, but it does seem that it is unnecessarily huge. All of the aftermarket bars I've seen are just that: bars. The one in the 350Z is this huge beam. :) Seems like Nissan could've designed it to just be a simple, nice looking bar. Would've saved a bit of space and maybe allowed us to squeeze some slightly larger things into the trunk. :) Don't get me wrong, it looks neat as it is. It just seems like it could've been made so much smaller and been just as functional. |
Think function, dont think appearance.
The rear bar in the trunk is not your average run of the mill "strut tower bar." The 350Z has a unique chassis design, the rear arch serves not just as an upper strut tower tie bar support, but more importantly works with another various other parts in the trunk to create a monococh chassis. Its not just about having a "metal support" -- its about being designed to reinforce the entire chassis in terms of stiffness AND safety (crash impact). Its amazing how people will Jeremy Clarckson will complain about not being able to fit much in the Z, and then doesnt consider the PRICE of the car, the PURPOSE of the car, and the EXCELLENT SAFETY reviews of the car. Hands down, the Z is one safe car. If you own a 350Z and want to learn more about your car, do yourselves the favor and purchase a *REAL* car review: Best Motoring, 350Z feature DVD: http://store.freshalloy.com/besmotvol6dv.html All around the BEST company for reviewing automobiles. Not this over opinionated and over-glamourized Top Gear crap (except the stuff that Tiff reviewed, he's awesome). - Mike / ClearCorners.Com |
Jeremy Clarkson is a ***. He has a grudge against Nissan, ever since he was publicly humiliated by an Nissan exec. Everyone also believes he is on Ford Payroll. Watch the RX-8, and GT-40 reviews.
Watch Tiff Needles 350Z review... he absolutely loves it. Top Gear rtanked the 350Z 7th in their top 100 cool cars list also. |
Mike,
can you tell us more about the Nissan exec humiliating Clarkson? I had never heard about it before and am quite curious. |
hmm but somehow...clarkson loves the skyline...
|
maybe that review happened before whatever the Nissan exec said about him?
