Nice finding Sharif, thanks Jeremy for letting Forged Team taking it apart
Sharif i have a small question please, i know i`m a dumb when it comes to engine internals, but do you think that we VQ35DE owners can put the Crank of the VQ37HR which have 86 storke in our motors with 96 Bore so we can get 3.8 Stroker Engine in a cheaper way ? Thanks in advance
P.S: i thought this is the VQ37HR just noticed the title after the end

We are going to break down the engine, and caress the internals for starters...hehe. But honestly, we just want to take a peak inside, and see what's in there.
We'll keep you posted as we start the breakdown. Not sure how far we will get into it....prior to Jeremy's car arriving back in our shop.

So will there be a VQ40HR for the Xterra and Frontier? Also is it safe to assume that since VQ37HR crank is bigger the VQ40 crank and other engine parts may not work either?

Truck/SUV engines are tuned very differently. They need lots of low end trq, which results in less top end power....so I doubt they would use the HR in the pathfinder..but I could be wrong!

OK, we pulled the upper plenum, and this nice is NICE. We figured the waffle pattern on the top is to strengthen the composite for...you guessed it...BOOST! The more we crack into this thing, the more we are convinced this engine has been tailered physically for boost.
The upper/middle collector is now one piece, and appears to be glued together with some kind of apoxy.
Velocity stacks are contured and nicely integrated into the upper plenum. Also notice the larger collectors on the sides, for increased volume.
The lower collector is very straight, and uses large square runners...another interesting find. The TB's are 60mm.
