Default Sound Legal cat-backs in cali?

I want to get a dual exhaust that will be sound legal in california... is there anything besides HKS that would work?

Exhausts sound can't exceed 95 decibels.

yeah, open headers.
I think the legal noise level is like 97decibels. Anything in excess is illegal. Unless, you ride a Harley you are not exempted. Although, i doubt that cops will create any issues, you still want to find out the state's statute regarding the noise level.

well it's legal to modify an exhaust in california if it's sound legal... this bill right here already passed.

Not true at all...

Learn the laws, and don't buy into any bs that goes around. Cops can play tricks on anyone if the person doesn't know their own state laws.

To the OP...

I believe every single exhaust out there for the VQ35 is sound legal. It's the modifications past the cat-back itself that can make it illegal.

For instance, adding test pipes might make it louder than the legal limit. Not to mention, that modifying the stock cats in California is higly illegal.

The cops are lame, they'll give you a ticket just because they need to make a quota, sometimes even if you're legal you're still stuck with the bill. other times it may be a fix it ticket, you take you car to the smog referee, they'll sound test it, if you pass, you'll pay to get the ticket cleared, so you just pay the processing fee, which comes to around $15. still you're paying something you shouldn't have to, and you're wasting time and fuel to go to testing and then to the courthouse to clear your ticket.

California was once the custom car capital of the world, now it's the epitome of ugly when it comes to it.

I'm just explaining how some cops are ******, this is just an example... living in a country of laws, if cops are abusing their authority, does than mean we shouldn't be living? In the pursuit of happiness, must we withdraw or witness our greatest acheivement? Evidently we must respond in numbers, we must change the shape of our nation, from those whom govern the streets and right up their asphalt!
