I don't think so, I believe the bolt pattern of the manifold on the two motors are different. The E370 from Motordyne (made for the 370z) is actually the VQ35HR's stock intake plenum with a modified bolt pattern. Also, referring to a post from last year they mentioned there were no new Kinetix Plenums being made for the VHR and that one was only a prototype, but used ones may pop up. Not sure if that has changed since.

For the VQ35HR, the only modified plenums I've seen are:

1) GamerModz plenum (one of a kind, plastic, made for his old setup)
2) Z1 Motorsports Intake Runner Shortening - No dyno results, extremely expensive for the process ($400+), and I believe the modification shifts power from low/mid to top.

Question VQ37 Z1 intake plenum...? VQ35HR Swap

http://www.z1motorsports.com/g37_370...oducts_id=7267

Will a VQ37 Z1 VQ37 Intake Plenum Power Mod 370Z & G37 fit a VQ35HR engine? This looks the same. They say you will need a tune when you swap. I wonder if there would be any hp gains.

No it won't, the location of the screws are different. FYI, the Motordyne E370 is the VQ35HR stock plenum modified for the VQ37VHR.

That plenum has only been used on their own shop cars, and with the dyno sheets it is very hard to see the gains. I have inquired about if this process can be applied to the VQ35HR plenum, their response was:

1) It will cost approximately ~$200 more than the VQ37VHR plenum because of the extra "steps" involved in modifying the intake runners

2) They have dyno sheets but they "can't provide them" because they want to keep the information secret for now but will release them soon (this was nearly a month ago)

Theoretically, I believe shortening the intake runners would shift some power from mid to up-top. Realistically, I haven't seen any gains from this plenum and wouldn't spend a dollar until I saw some solid gains. For now, this is pretty much snake oil. I didn't like their response at all when I asked about proof of gains or some sort of information, I had to call back several times even though I was promised a call back.

Why don't you just get the one for the 35HR?

Possibly enough to make it worth buying IF you're one to want to extract every bit of power possible.

Definitely would need a re-tune. We need some kind of proof this makes power. Cheap though.

I've found a local upper manifold for cheap so I might just go for it and see what comes out.

cheap for the part, then factor in another $300 for a retune

The upgraded z1 manifold definitely makes good power, everywhere.
-will definitely need a retune; but you could ride on it if need be.

don't forget your INJEN long tubes when you get your retune.

What did they do? Just port it out?

If it made ~5whp/tq that alone would be a great bang/buck on really any NA car .... I'm actually more curious about gains w/ boost considering it's even more room to breathe, the gains may be compounded.

it tempting, but 200+ for the manifold, 300 for retune, and then 400+ for the intakes = not worth it imho

I already have intakes. I'm trying to decide if I want shorty or LTH for my next mod before I think about this and a retune.
