PPE LTH's ..
Anyone picked these in non-stepped version ( with reducers ) for the HR ?!
Yes i understand that for the HR it's recommended to have the stepped version but never seen one trying the nonstepped's with reducers for his HR.
I went thro that Loooong PPE thread with all it's 73 pages but didn't come across with an HR fella trying the non-steppeds on his engine .. Only one guy who received the wrong setup ( non-stepped ) for his HR but never come back for a review ..
I'm asking this because .. All non stepped versions worked very very well for all DE guys, but it varied between the HR fellas with all their stepped setups ..
so thought why not have the nonstepped version for my HR.. !
Oh and not to mention that guy with his Cammed HR, when he dropped power when installed these ( stepped ).
Besides the merge collector, i think the reducers ( which only available in nonstepped ) are doing the main job! .... that make me think, why not have reducers in the stepped versions too !!
Anyways, let's here your experiences on these .. i'm sure many people got these already since that time ..
Thank you ..

^ He did retune the car but that didn't help either, I think Cams and PPE's don't work together .. He ended up FI'ed btw.
Anyone else running these with some after market Cams ?!
Or .. anyone running these as non-stepped with reducers in the HR ?!

I'm learning more and more that Cammed HR's do night like LTH's. I'm working with a guy that helped JWT on kels high compression piston and cam combo. He said the HR's made more power with shorties cammed. I do not know how true this is. But, I just installed momentum headers on mine and getting ready to try Tomei 272's here soon to see how true it really is. Kels is a "mid longtube" with a one off collector that PPE's can't touch. Again I can't speak for kels build. But I'm trying it out to see how it goes. Guy in japan laid down 339 with the 272's and no springs and retainers, stock headers.stock compression too. With a restricted exhaust. I'll be posting the results as the Ginny pig lol.

Well i'm running Tomei's 272 all around in my HR, but again i'm NA high compression built, stroked to 4.0 ( BC kit ) .. Car runs like a champ but hey you may not see the same result with your future Tomie Cams ..
I'm running with stillen shorties btw but you kno .. fella won't get satisfied unless he squeezes it to death lol .. This mod bug won't leave me alone
Anyways, I'm really tempted to these PPE's .. But my worries if i'm gonna lose power just like our fella above .. Yes i'm - unlike him - stroked/high comp built but still ...

Answering your question, no i didn't have to sleeve the block, pistons are in 96mm bore so sleeving was not required.
I drive a 08 G35 sedan btw ..

Someone told me I would have to sleeve the block which is why I abandoned my NA build and was going to get sts rear mount turbo. NA is boss but I had thought that I would need to sleeve the block...this is why its best to ask people that have actually done it lol.

Hey, I'm the guy that got the non-stepped with reducer.
Truth be told...they were never installed and are still hanging on my wall. The state of GA started doing visuals and I was worried about the PITA it would be passing emissions.
Still have had thoughts of installing them anyways, but...considering a new car now.
If it's true that cammed cars don't do well with the longtubes...ouch.
