For those that have switched out their wheels >>
What the hell is the thing sticking out of the brake rotor ? I am assuming it is there to help with the removal of the rotor....but does it need to be there?
It's very much in the way of the wheels I want to put on. It appears that it just hides in a little hole between the holes for the lug nuts on the stock wheels.
Any insight ?

Without knowing exactly what part you're talking about, I think you're referring to the peg that keeps one from putting the rear tires and wheels on the fronts, as they are both different sizes and directional (no rotating tires).
I'm not sure if this is what you were referring to, but if so, I don't know if it can be removed. I'm sure it can, but I would think you'd want it to keep the wrenchheads at the tire shop from screwing up your stuff.
