Eagle F1's versus the stock Potenza's..
I am going with these and dumping the Potenza's. Does anyone have any personal experience with them?
You can go to this link and read the review on them, then go to the Potenza review, and its not even close. http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires....h=true&index=0 |
Yeah I have read the reviews of the Shitenza and as you will notice IS300 and RX-8 owners have also had "feathering" type issues with the Shitenzas. Almost anything is a better tire choice.

i have those on my z for quite a long time.
i'm very happy with those. since i wrecked my old 300zx in the rain, i have some fear of wet-road driving and this tires handle very well in wet road condition. (sucks in the snow as all max perf. tires do). tire wear is pretty good too. it takes some time to warm up but other than that its very good tires. if you are getting all 4 tires don't forget to add road hazard program from tirerack.. i hit potholes 2 times and had to replace 2 tires.. those aren't cheap. road harard is worth it since it doesn't come with any types of warranty or replacement plan from goodyear. |
I had these, only lasted me 4000 miles though because of my negative camber....they were great while I had them, I liked them better than S03's, the sidewalls are no where as stiff as the RE040's or S03's but if you pump them with air, I ran 38-40 psi in them, they are forgiving, yet stiff when pushed. I recommend them, plus they look great.

Don't want to get off subject too much, but have you looked at the "Michelin Pilot Sport PS2"?

Originally posted by ChinaClipper I am using the F1 GS-D3 right now and they are great! Great summer and rain tire. Useless in snow, which we do not get here in North Central Texas. Handles rain just fine though! I have about 25,000 miles on my set, including four track day events - New Hampshire International Speedway, Willow Springs California, and two days at Hallett raceway in Oklahoma. Very forgiving tire at the limit with gradual breakaway with plenty of warning. I expect to get a total of 30-35,000 miles on these tires. Would buy again with no hesitation. Potenzas are no comparison. |
I have over 10,000 miles on mine and they are great. I wouldn't own anything else. I go up and down I 5 in Ca. and these sure hold the road and are extremely quiet. Definately worth the price.
