Rim Guru's: I need your help please

I am getting totally lost in the mirth of having to chose a damn rim for my car, the sizes and the options.

Can someone just advise me whats the best size rim to get for the following rubber:

Fronts: 225/45R18
Rear: 245/45R18

Obviously I know it's 18", but is it 8, 8.5, 9, 9.5 for the fronts and 8.5, 9, 9.5 or 10 for the rears!

It's for a '05 350Z. I do not want to have to run the expense of buying new rubber. I do like the speed star SP1 wheels.

Your help is greatly appreciated!

Maybe you can go 8 for the front and 8.5 for the rear with those tire sizes, but I don't think a 225 tire (front) isn't going to work with a 9.5 front wheel and a 245 tire (back) isn't going to work with a 10 rear wheel.

Just for comparison, I have 245's on my front 8.5 wheel and it seems a bit too small. Also, I don't know what the stock wheel sizes are for 18", but my 17" (stock wheels) were 7.5 (front) with 225's and 8 (back) with 235's.

with those tire sizes, you should just use the rays track edition wheels. they are lightweight, look good (imo), and fit those tire sizes correctly.

My sincere advice to you is to just hold off on rims until you can afford better tires. I debated buying a set of the track rims or other 18s...but after driving a Z with the 245/275 staggered setup it became apparent to me that larger tires are prob the best upgrade for the car. The stock tires don't last long anyway... prob in < 1yr you'll be ready to pitch them.

And tires in the 245/275 size can be had pretty cheap if you shop around. You'll be glad you got wider rims - the look and drive are substantially improved...and that's what rims are all about!

might want to reconsider the SSR's as they are now out of business, and unlikely you'll be able to order a set in your desired size

if you are going to keep the stock tires, get 8's up front, 9's out back in a low ish 20 offset.

Cheers guys. Appreciate your feedback.

Yeah, my stock rims are Rays Engineering forged rims, six spoke, so probs will sit with them for while, unless something comes up.

First thing on order is a rear spoiler and coilovers! hahahahahahahahahahaha
