I need lugnuts- for my 19" J8's!

My lug nuts on my 19's SUCK. I need some new ones. "tuner" style will be needed, standard ones do not fit. Looking for closed and strong/high quality that wont strip (steel is probably the way to go right?). Also, I need some wheel locks too... any recommendations? Found these on various sites, but I dont know the quality or what they are made of: Muteki tuner lugs? Trust lug nuts? How about locks? Mcgard locking lugnut?

I have something like this now, that came with the wheels. When I was getting the dyno, the rounded end of one of the lug nuts fell off and was rusted! :ripped:

You can get a set of these from Rays:

They come in different colors including black. Performance Nissan carries them for almost the same price. I'm going to get a set of these to go with my Volks because the ones that came with my rims are some regular generic chrome lugs.

How are the Ray's lugs as far as safety is concerned?

synth19 Mar 1, 2005 10:18 AM

arent the rays aluminum? Cant they be damaged by impact tools?

manofsteele2003 Mar 1, 2005 11:01 AM

As far as safety, I don't think Rays would make a product that would cause your car not to be safe.

Yes these are aluminum but I don't know what affect impact tools would have on them.

It is always recomended to use a torque wrench with proper settings than an impact gun. But the lugs still are desinged to take a beating and the rays one will hold up to pretty much anything you want to use on em. They are lightweight but super strong, hence the price.

Both me and jason use Rays lugs, albeit different ones, and they all hold up perfectly.

^ thanks, what's with the short vs. long lug nuts? Strictly looks? any advantage with the short vs. long?

if you don't mind me asking.....how much were your j8's?

i have been eyeballing these same rims....also, what sizes and offsets did you go with?

thanks

Haha, by safety I mean the possibility of wheel theft. Are these wheel locks or just lugs? B/c I know many companies have generic (read: duplicates of the same lock) available for sale.

Just wondering if they are unique in that respect, or if anyone can get some unique locks/combinations.

peace!

I got some good PM's from performance.. I think I'm gonna go with the Rays, they also come with locks... I'll get the short ones, I'd like to keep it suttle.
