I had a little extra time on my hands, so I included a few photoshop pics. Next up, is to have my Z dispayed by a beach (photoshopped), since I have no beach here. |
The pics are great. That's a really good look.
I'm wondering why you got the hotchkis springs? Not that there's anything wrong with that, but I just don't know much about what aftermarket springs are all about. |
I bought the hotchkis springs because they only lower your car by 9/16" front, and 3/4" rear. I think the other springs on the market lowers your car more, and I didn't want it lowered that much.
Thanks |
I think the Hiros are such a good choice for the Z. Looks great.

Did you just recently get them new cuz they were on backorder. I am asking b/c I am waiting for mine to come in.

Copy Cat..... j/k man you know it looks good. Damnit when i posted I got like 3 replys, you got liek a bunch more than me already..... Anyways glad you finally got the tire situation figured out... Nice choice in color and wheels.
|
damn that looks good! 19 inch 5 spoke wheel on a 350z... doesnt get better than taht! 19s look perfect, as do the 5 spokes
|
How come you chose to go 275/30/19 for the tires on the rear, i just ordered a new set of wheels and went with 275/35/19 and my rears are only 9.5. just curious for your reasoning, thanks
|
That's what was recomended by Axis....

You may run into problems with 245/35/19 front and 275/30/19 back because the rear tires rotate faster then the fronts and that makes the car think that you are losing traction so your traction control turns on.
But you probably wont have any problems. BTW I have the same wheels :) |
Nice!! Stylish and affordable rims. Any chance of more pics? :)
|
i am wondering about the rear tire size too. i thought 275/35/19 is THE size to go with to keep the VDC happy.
i guess if you have a base or tcs-equipped Z then it's not enough to make a difference? Nice wheels by the way. I like hiros a lot and they are the cheapest set out of the ones i want! Where and how much did you pay for them? under 2400 i hope?!?! :) |
I think those rims look absolutely perfect on the Z. Does anyone have a recommendation of the best/cheapest place to purchase these?
|
My "slip" light did come on once when I ran over a couple bumps in the road. If you do get the 9.5", and 10.5" rims, make sure you get the nitto 555's. I tried using the goodyear gsd's, and falkens 245/35/19, and 275/30-35/19 and the rims stuck out way further than the tires did. But, the nitto's look great in that size. Strange. I wouldn't listen to what Axis says about tire sizes (unless they ship all 9.5", and 10.5" where the rims stick out further than the tires do). I didn't want to go w/ the 255/45/19, and 285/35/19 because I was unsure if I had to roll my fenders.
Not sure about final pricing yet since I had to pay the shipping cost to send back 4 tires that didn't fit, plus pay discount tire to dismount/remount the tires. But, I know it wasn't less than $2400. I purchased them from wheel discount back in early march. But, make sure you get the proper tire sizes, or you'll go thru a bunch of BS trying to find the right ones. I guess I was the guinea pig when I got mine. Not fun at all, but finally happy now that they are on w/ the right sized tires. Their supervisor helped me out a lot. Thanks for the compliments! |
Looks Great!
Great Looking Wheels!
I too purchased Axis Hiros a few months back. Mind were 9.5 Fronts and 10.5 Rears I ordered mine with Toyos T1s. The issue I have is that the 9.5 front wheels stuck out slightly pass the fenders. I am waiting for Wheel Studio to send me the 8.5 intead. I'm curious to know what is the offset on your fromts. I know Axis has two offsets for the 9.5. Thanks |
I'm not sure what the offsets are. Sorry.
Did your rims stick out further than the tires on your toyo's for the rear 275/35? |
No the rears are perfect. The wheels did not stick out further than the tires. The issue I had with the fronts was that if you looked at it from the front you can see that the lip of the wheel and tire was about a 1/16 to 1/4 inch sticking out pass the fender. Do you have a picture looking at it from standing directly in front of your front wheel and looking straight down to see if your wheels are tucked under the fender?
Thanks |
I'll take some more pics tomorrow, but didn't notice mine sticking out further than the fender.
|
this is great. thanx everyone for looking into the fitment issues... this will help me out lots when i order my set... lol
