Its tall, it has to be perfect or you will have rub city,. Or you can reduce travel with bigger bump stops.
275/35-18 is a lot better choice
My current setup is 18x10.5+15 275/35F 285/35R. Problem is that I find the 35 sidewall to be thin and aside from that I would like to have a square setup.
Lots of info on here. I just picked up new wheels and just as I thought I had my mind made up on going with a 255/40 - 275/40 front/rear combo...I am now having second thoughts and thinking maybe more aggressive with a 265/35 - 285/35 combo?
Pros and cons? Anything I should consider between those two options? I live in Pittsburgh and the idea of having a little taller sidewall is nice but I don't want to be too conservative if I can fit more tire??
Stock suspension for now but I am willing to roll fenders when I lower it. Thankfully there is a shop in town I trust to do the rolling at a reasonable cost.

currently i have a 265/35/18-285/35/18 on my 9.5 10.5
And it fits the wheel perfectly and I believe that's the width recommended for 9.5 and 10.5. if you want to see pictures check out my ig @just_my_car. As far as the other combo you mentioned your tire has to stay in a certain proportion to oem sizes. You can find calculators for that online I'm not sure what exactly it's called but someone here can help you with that. With your rim offsets I wouldn't be concerned about rubbing a lot my wheels are a +10 and +12 offset and at stock height no problems but I would still recommend a roll. And when you eventually are lowered I don't see you having a problem.
Looking at buying some Forgestar f14s for the Z this month, keeping them 18s, most common width I seem to find around here is 18x9.5 fronts and 18x11 rears, I know very little about what offsets to get since with Forgestar you can get pretty much anything..
I have stock suspension for now, and can roll fenders if need be.
For tires I am thinking probably going 265/35/18s in the front and 285/35/18s in the rear unless anyone could offer better advice.

You *most likely* won't need to roll fenders up to 285 with those offsets rear & stock height; possible roll lowered > 1". Oh, and when I say "Too short", that's NOT saying you can't/shouldn't run these, just warning you that they're a fair bit lower than stock but at least the 3% stagger delta rule is adhered to for the sake of VDC if you have it.

Thanks for the response! Sounds like if I want a little taller sidewall then the 40 series combo is the way to go. May provide my old bones a little more cushion on these crappy Pittsburgh roads too!
I have an 03 Z that came with some 19's and it rides terrible. I actually prefer the look of 18's and proper wheel fitment not to mention how much better of a drive it is with taller sidewalls.
I don't want anything complicated or have to run a spacer etc.. I am considering these wheels

What I'm unsure is if it might look goofy being sucked in the fender to far or I should be ok?

+22 will be fine.
These are 9.5/10.5 +22 F&R with 255 & 285/35 19s but same overall profile.
My 18x9.5 +15 squares with 245 & 275/40- RPF1s necessitated fender roll.
"Terrible ride" is subjective. All of my 19" setups have been no different than my 18s and that's attributed to suspension and choice of tires. For example, my Kumho PS91s on the above 19s were like riding on butter compared to the 18" BFG KDW's I once had on a set of Track V1s in OE 45 aspect ("tall", comparatively) sizes. All about the tire construction and tread. Those were so horrific, I gave them away. Literally.
Oh, and you didn't mention if you have stock or aftermarket suspension. '03-04.5 Z has the worst, most bone annoying ride. That was "fixed" after 04.5 production where Nissan finally calmed down the jitters of the early car's suspension. My aftermarket setup is markedly better behaved even though it has higher jounce/rebound and spring rates.
