Luke, question re: Moda R6's
 

I would like to order a set of Moda R6's 19X8 (which I think is the widest the come in). What would be a good offset, do I need spacers and what would be the widest tires I could fit on the rears? Thanks.

How will they fit (offset) will they go far enough out to the edge on teh wheel well (like an M3) or be more "tucked" like a HOnda/stock 350 (is this is the case, can spacers be fit to bring it out more).???

The Moda R6 comes in a 19x8 size with a 35mm offset and would fit the 350 with no problems .... front and rear. The widest tire you could use for this wheel would be a 245/40-19 in the rear. You would have to partner that with a 225/40-19 front

any chance that a 255/40/19 would fit???

Minimum width required for a 255/40-19 is 8.5"

Like RodH said, with a 35mm offset, what would the look be? I don't want it tucked like the stock 350Z is, I would perfer it to be even with the wheel well. WOuld this be the case? If not, how could i make that happen? Thanks

You can use wheel spacers.

For someone who is a wheel retard ( I raise my hand) can someone enlighten me on spacers? What do they do, how do you use them, how much do they cost, are their reliability/handling issues when used, etc. And if anyone can give me a guess as to how the R6's would look with the nomral 33 offset I would forever be in your debt. :D

LA-Z, if you find out what the wheel offset will look like, as far as how for it is extended to the wheel well, let me know (it looks like Luke didn't respond to that question, WHICH happened to be my most important Q I had, I don't want to keep bugging him, it looks like he is staying plenty busy answering other questions).

I wouldnt go with them because:

They weigh 29lbs in their 18" trim....so they will probably weigh over 30lbs in 19"

Only 8" wide...not as much contact patch, but more importanty, they look WAY to thin.

They will look more tucked than the touring 18's, which are the same width bt have a lower offset (30)

Most I have talked to said wheel spacers are a no no.

BUT, nice clean looking wheels.

dang BRAD, you just ripped out my heart!! I love those wheels, so what you are saying is to get them to fit right (llook good) spacers are a must, and PLUS that adds wt (to an already heavy wheel), CRAP

they will not be at the edge of the fender ... the will be about as "tucked" as the OE 18" front wheel ... 1 more thing the 19" does weigh 30.0 lbs.
