Polishing lips on rims to a mirror finish...

Can it be done? I have Axis Hiros and I want my lip to be like a mirror finish... can anybody shed some light?

yes u can. Just got my wheel lips polished today at TWS, very good work. $40 per wheel. These lips were originally silver colored with clear coat.

$40 per wheel? WTF? That is a DEAL!!!! Where at. Plz give us info. Im in Socal wher eis this at?

TWS = the wheel supply, on fairway in city of industry. They are known for very good work... tire mounting etc, never any scratches.

To get to them to shine like that, wet sand the wheel lip with 600-2000 grit sandpaper until all clear coat is gone. Machine repolish the lip.

considering im not wher near you - would i be able to take it to any wheel refinishing shop to get some work done like that? =)

that'd be suhweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet

Make sure u see if people recommend them. Polishing wheel is something that takes patience, not something u want to take to people with no experience. And you can consider doing it yourself if you have the time. Just work it with sand paper and then polish it up with that Mothers powerball.

Good to hear The Wheel Supply does quality work. I took in 3 wheels last week to fix some bends on the lips and fix some curb rash. I'll post up before and after when I get back. They definitely have some good prices though. $70/ wheel to fix bend and repolish the lip. curb rash was $30 extra.
