Anyone verify 285/30/19's fit on a 9.5" Rim

My 275's are down to a couple thousand miles and I want to know if the 285's will fit on my 9.5" rim. It looks like they are back ordered too. Please lend your ASSistance.

what brand are you looking to get? i don't think you will have problem with it.

eltness350 Sep 8, 2005 04:12 PM

if you go on toyo.com it say that a 285 is for a 9.5-10.0-10.5 inch rim so yes it should fit

Alberto Sep 8, 2005 04:32 PM

Yes it will fit. It might slightly pudge, but it is def within specs to work....

It says they fit on a 9.5 rim but i was concerned by the overall tire width which was 10 or 11 I believe. I plan on getting the PS2's again. However with my driving and everything my rears are wearing twice as fast as the front.

DIGItonium Sep 8, 2005 09:10 PM

Do you have 245s up front? My front wheels are 9.5" and I'm hoping to get something wider than 245s so I can get more lip protection.

I'm suffering from the feathering issue again and it's killing my front Toyos in less than 6 months! Inner treadwear is ridiculous, and everything else is fine. :-(

Yes Im sporting 245's on a 8.5" rim.
I believe if you have 9.5 Front and 10.5Rear you want a maximum of 255FR and 285 Rear, i wonder if you can do a 255Front and 295 Rear. Only rubbing might be an issue depending on offset and such.

I've got 285/30/20's on a 9.5 and it works fine. No bulge and looks perfect. These are Falken FK451's though.

Depends on tire

I would say that it depends on the tire manufacturer's specs/recommendations. I have 285/30/19 S-03's on a 19x10 wheel. Bridgestone recommends a 10"-11" rim for the 285's. I am sure other tires may let you fit a 285 on a 9.5" wheel, just check with the tire manufacturer you are going to be using. Just my $.02

Sorry to change topics Barthelb..but can you sum up what you think of the ps2's. Thanks

barthelb Sep 12, 2005 09:50 AM

The PS2's are awesome tires. They just cost a lot, i've put 16k miles on them and they can go another 3-4 once i mount them backwards and swap them, my camber is off a lil but I would need a camber kit. I had the Toyo T1's and they lasted 15k miles and that was before I had 440+ to the wheels. They are very quiet and have a nice firm feel around corners. I still lose traction because of obvious reasons but they provide very good grip. Im hoping the 285's will be much better.

Update

I mounted BF Goodrich REO50A's 285x35x19 on a 9.5" rim and they look good.

they will fit...

usmanasif Sep 30, 2005 09:31 AM

I checked Toyo's site last night and yes, they list 285 tires fitting on rims that are 9-11 inches wide.
