Nitto 555's VS. Stock 17" Potenzas for Winter
Would there be a benefit to throwing my stock 17's back on for the winter with the stock tires VS. leaving my 20's on with nitto 555's?...i've heard that the potenzas aren't really that good in the winter, so if i don't get winter tires, would it even make sense to swap the wheels?
I'll be avoiding the snow and not driving very much during the winter anyway |
I don't think any tire likes cold asphalt. I see no benefit in switching tires.

i would leave the 20s on. I had the potenzas on my 18" stock wheels 2 years ago and they had absolutely no grip (i got caught in 2 storms, less than 2" of snow). my tires were getting close to the end of their life, but i would buy blizzaks if you can afford it

PUT ON THE STOCKERS.
Even if you do avoid the snow, there will left over salt on the raod well into spring time (untill 2 harder rains) and salt will EAT aftermarket wheels.... Please do not ruin your rims. Neither tire is going to like the cold, but think of your wheels, and save them. |
