winter around the corner...just got my 05 z yesterday and from what i read here winter tire are a MUST. Where is the cheapest place to get them and what kind of prices should i expect to pay to get them mounted and balanced and everything? Should i get some cheap steel rims or will stock be ok? I read alot on here about the Blizzaks being good....am i right? What sizes would i need for stock rims and would theybe the same zise if i got some cheap steel rims? where do you buy cheap steel rims?

generally i would say that discounttiredirect.com is one of the best and cheapest places. as far as the brand, you will get differing opinions, do a search here and general internet to find what you want. i have the blizzacks and have had no problems with them. in fact they make the Z the best car i have ever driven in the snow!!!

as far as size, just watch to maintain the stagger with the rears being .5 inch taller so you dont mess up VDC or TCS. other than that the rule of thumb is try to go as narrow a width as you can so that it penetrates the snow and slush better.

i have my snowys on my stock rims, i went aftermarket the rest of the time. i have heard most people without aftermarket rims went with some cheaper steelies.

good luck.
