18's and 19's
Has anyone thought about or have ran 18's in the front and 19's in the rear. i mean with being staggered and all you never have to worry about rotating. plus tire cost for the front would be less expensive. also the big lip on the rear makes the wheel look smaller anyways. I'm not really serious about doing it just wondered if anyone has done it and what it looked like. :icon38:

This year's Z is setup that way. Also the Central 20 Z has been setup like this for a while now. Here's a pic. |
19" all the way. thats what i have, thats what i like...

Yeah, for 2006, the track and grand touring models have that setup. I have a track model and was actually curious if they made that style in 19s in the correct offset for the front. According to jason at performance, they apparently don't.

what checkmate said
would not be bad at all if it were 7-spokes all the way around |
pretty strange that they went with a 6 spoke and 7 spoke combo. I guess I should ask for soy sauce with that rice.

I'm putting on Axis Hiros 18 x 8.5 front and 19 x 10.5 rear?

There is no real performance purpose for doing a setup like this, it's all really for looks, to get a more massive looking wheel/tire in the back, that's about it. If you have feathering problems in the future, the 18s would probably be cheaper than 19s to replace, but unless you like the look of it, i'd just stick with the same size all around.
IMO the 18/19 combo looks kind of off.... |
yeah i'm thinking of going with the speed star d5r's or the sp1's in 18x8.5 front and 18x10.5 rear. i wish there was better info about these wheels. there site doesn't have much the tanabe site doesn't say that much, and tire rack will only list them in black for the sp1's. :icon44:
