Pics please. I don't know where to find said rims.

Of the wheels with staggered fitments, I would only touch the thruxtons (not new) or possibly the mondello (not that new I don't think).

The others just couldn't wouldn't look good on the Z at all IMO.

Montage- looks ok but has no lip
Thruxton-has huge lip but looks small when viewed from the side, don't know how to explain it but it looks weird
Kyalami-looks ok
Catalunya-looks ok, seen this on a few Z's

mario60185 12-23-2005 06:27 AM

these arent new, same crap as last year.

05-Z 12-23-2005 07:34 AM

^^LOL....I actually like the "turn 6" model. At least all their wheels are inexpensive.

djnc 12-23-2005 08:08 AM

the volcanos might look ok on a Z...aren't tsw's known for poor quality though?

Here are the new styles I was talking about.

My suggestion is, get the wheels you LOVE. If you ask people about TSW's, there's going to be a few people who are either thinking or some folks who would say "TSWs suck, and you suck for buying them"

From what I know, they're heavy. They're cast. They're pretty cheap. If you LOVE them go for them, because F*ck what other people think. They're just wheels, no one expects everybody to buy $3.5k+ Work rims.

But if you're not sure about them, you may come to regret it.

If you have to have one of the new ones get the Nogaro. The rest look like SUV rims.

ZlleH 12-23-2005 12:47 PM

I dislike everyone of them.

my buddy who drives a Civic Si had some TSW's wheels. He kept bending them. I think he went through 4 of them before he gave up and put the stockers back on.

ssk0771 12-24-2005 10:34 AM

TSW wheels are soft. I use to have them on my old car(95 Nissan Maxima).

Look on the bright side, TSW bend easy but they won't crack. :icon38: :icon38: :icon38:

They are not that bad. I think some of the designs look pretty good.

If you like them, get it. Its all about what you can afford and what you like.

Triple8Sol 12-24-2005 01:01 PM

Not a fan. A couple of the newer styles look ok, but overall not a brand I'd ever buy...

MarquisDeSam 12-24-2005 07:53 PM

the 350z is a nice car. For the love of God PLEASE get some nice rims for it! TSW does not fall in that category.

Well at least they aren't Katana's or Gitanos. :icon16:

jinsei888 12-25-2005 08:50 AM

TSW is a *barf* brand

Wired 24/7 12-25-2005 09:09 AM

This is why I said get the rims you love. People bash TSW all day long.

If you love them though, **** it and buy them.

TSW is a *barf* brand
And this you know from personal experience - right? :icon18:

If you don't like their styles, that's fine. But from personal experience - not "a friend had them" or "I heard that they..." or " I remember reading..." - they are a very decent quality wheel. I've had three different sets on three different cars over the past ten years, and was pleased with all of them. I ran them over the worst Alaska roads you could find every winter and never bent a rim. They were not heavy for cast wheels, and many owners can't afford true lightweight forged rims anyway. The 18s on the Z weigh 22.5 pounds each - less that the 18" Touring rims weigh. Yes, that's 4 pounds more than a Track rim, but for the average owner's use that is of minor concern. In total I saved about 18 pounds in unsprung weight over the stock wheels/tires with the TSWs and PS2 tires.

For the love of God PLEASE get some nice rims for it!
I was able to use the money I saved on the TSW wheels to buy among the best tires and some engine bolt-ons. Isn't the Z worth having the best tires - or is it only nice rims that matter? ;) I have to chuckle at the owners who brag on their georgeous $650 wheels - wrapped in cheezy Wanlo tires. From a performance standpoint, they'd have been much better off getting cheaper wheels and better tires....but to each his own. :)
