Finally!.. Enkei RP03 18x9.5 with 275's all round (PICS)

:icon38: FINALLY got the wheels on...

Some of you may have read my old post about trying to fit 275's front and back (like sport compact car)... after months of waiting and measuring and saving up cash, they're finally on.

Enkei RP03 (silver) 18x9.5 with +38 offset all around.
Front Spacers 15mm (hubcentric) for a total +23mm offset at the front. Fits JUST inside the front wheel arches, no scrubbing at full lock! (see pics)

Sumitomo HTRZ II tyres
275/40/18 rear
275/35/18 front

Some photos taken on the great ocean road drive (Adelaide to Melbourne)

Initial impressions - excellent grip in dry, quite a significant increase in road noise over stock. Tyres squeal a lot more but controllable at limits of traction. Slightly sloppy turn-in due to soft sidewalls.
Got to 240km/h and felt quite safe.
Grip is poorer in the wet, as expected.

Hope you enjoy the pics!

Nice work

But I would put a 15mm/20mm spacer in the rear as well

TriX Jan 28, 2006 07:29 AM

so you are saying that with these wheels the road noise is worse??

thats not good.

tienlo Jan 28, 2006 02:03 PM

yeah, the road noise is worse. I expected that though, with so much extra rubber on the road. when i can afford them I'm getting yokohama advan v103's

jmcmorante Jan 28, 2006 02:16 PM

Nice. I have always been a fan of the RPo3's:icon38:

Nice set of wheel....

body kit next??

tienlo Jan 29, 2006 05:39 AM

Yeah, spacers on the rear seem like a good idea... i'm still deciding when to do that...
I think that I'm due for a new aftermarket front bumper, you can see the rock chip damage in one of the closeups...

SpeedRcr Jan 29, 2006 08:45 AM

i have the same wheels but i put 255 in front and 295 in rear

Triple8Sol Jan 29, 2006 06:33 PM

Love the RP03's...I agree that a spacer in the rear would be a good thing

RashMan14 Jan 30, 2006 12:39 AM

wow 9.5 all around? looks sweet

davidv Jan 30, 2006 10:38 AM

Beautiful wheels but it does not sound like you are impressed with the tires. Why did you buy them?

tienlo Jan 30, 2006 12:14 PM

Yeah, i got the sumitomo's bloody cheap (about AUD 400, which is about half the price of S03's or PS2's etc). For the price i'm still very impressed by them.

I replaced my stock 18's w/ 18" RPO3's-9"f & 10"r-w/ agressive offsets and have never looked back. The wheels have been on about 10k miles. IMO, the wheels still look great on my '04 ZR. The clear coat has held up extremely well, and the wheels are very easy to keep clean. Absolutely no problems. Thanks to Jason @ performancenissan for turning me on to these wheels.

Frostydc4 Jan 30, 2006 05:36 PM

Looks great.

Jason@Performance Jan 30, 2006 11:20 PM

very glad to see the 275/35 / 275/40 being used!

thats how it should be done if your doing the same width front and rear...

nice one!

Wow, I never realized how much 5 degree caster was until this picture. That's cool!

hi tienlo!

excellent setup  ... do you have some pics from the front wheels ... i want to get the same setup, but i have to check, if the wheels stand out of the fender ... in austria that's a big problem and not allowed ...

btw ... how near is the rim to the suspension?!

greetz from austria
