Another black volk le35t guy here...
EDIT: haha big typo in subject.. that's volk LE37t..
I was a little hesitant in getting black rims for my redline but I think the black LE's look pretty good with the red stoptechs Here are my rims after unboxing... 19" 9.5f +22et, 10.5r +22et http://home.comcast.net/~mikelee100/z/rim1a.jpg http://home.comcast.net/~mikelee100/z/rim2a.jpg http://home.comcast.net/~mikelee100/z/rim3a.jpg http://home.comcast.net/~mikelee100/z/rim4a.jpg my old rims 18" TE37 mercury silver, 8.5f +30et, 9.5r +35et http://home.comcast.net/~mikelee100/z/Img_1450.jpg (continued) |
I'm going with Falken FK451's 285/35/19's in the rear so I had to get my fenders rolled.. Oh, I got Falken 245/35/19's in the front.. I would have preferred to get a 255 series tire but Falken doesn't make one in the FK451.. so it's a little stretched..Here are some pics of my fender getting rolled:
Heating the fender while rolling it to prevent paint chipping http://home.comcast.net/~mikelee100/z/roll1.jpg what a rolled fender looks like from the inside http://home.comcast.net/~mikelee100/z/roll2.jpg what a rolled fender looks like from the outside (see how it sticks out more) http://home.comcast.net/~mikelee100/z/roll3.jpg pic taken facing the ceiling.. http://home.comcast.net/~mikelee100/z/roll4.jpg (continued) |
and finally, the finished product
http://home.comcast.net/~mikelee100/z/newrims1.jpg http://home.comcast.net/~mikelee100/z/newrims2.jpg rears and fronts are slightly tucked but I'm experiencing no rubbing because my fenders are rolled.. http://www.mike-lee.org/geekpics/zee/tucked.jpg |

OMG that's gorgeous! Now I seriously have to consider Red Line Red to go with the GB LE37s I ordered... I was thinking silverstone, but wow... Red line is more rare of a color anyway.

im not famliar with your car, but why did you have to roll your fenders? did you drop your car or are your offsets so low with 19's. i was under the impression you didn't need to roll with just 19's.
btw::thumbup: great job |
Thanks for the compliments guys!

it's a lot of things.. a combination of width, offset, camber, how much you are lowered and what size and brand of tire you are using.. I thought I could get away with using a Falken 285/35/19 tire and not roll because I heard the sidewalls are not stiff and "cup" well.. my offset is +22, width 10.5, I'm lowered so I can barely fit one finger in between tire and wheel well (wheels are slightly tucked).. my rear camber is corrected to factory specs via SPC camber arms so I'm not runnng excess negative camber.. This combination rubbed.. If i had gone with a 275/35/19 Falken tire it would have probably worked.. because the tire would have been stretched reducing it's height just enough.. or if i would have ran with a couple of degrees of excess negative camber it would have probably worked too.. but I would be killing my tires and straight line traction.. --mike |
Looks SUPER nice indeed. More pics!
