So, I put 275's on stock 17's
Well, temporarily I did. It took a damn good tire guy and it didn't look too safe. The Eagle F1 DS-G3's fit nicely inside the wheel well...here's the best pics I could get

wont cause any hazards?
|
It looks like it might cause some hazards, let me make it clear I didn't leave it on my rim because A.) because my buddy let me borrow it from his shop just to mount, B.) I only had one, and C.) Though the tire guy said it was safe, it sure didn't look like it....
|
since the tire is waaaaaaay thicker than the rim, the sides should bubble.. by taking hard turns or going over bumps, it might cause too much pressure and throw the tire off the rim.. correct?
|
i have the eagle f1 supercars on my 8in rims & they do not bulge nearly that much... every type of tire, even within the same brand name, seem to fit rims differently, even if they are all 257/40 r17. They just fit differently!
Weird |
The sides did bubble quite a bit, it was locked on there tho....for drag racing I think you'd be ok for the night...but yes a track day would end in disaster it looked..
