275 40's all around...

Ok, I have Kumho Ecsta MX's 275 40's on 9.5, 30 offset Rota P45R's all around... I also have JIC FLTA2's and Cusco adjustable camber plates...why are my front wheels rubbing on bumps, but not at full lock? The car is lowered and has some camber(no specific numbers). Should I just eat the cost of the front 275 40's and get 265 40's(In a different brand, Kumho does not make 265's in MX form Is there a way to adjust my suspension, so it won't rub? I have a track event on Friday and I need this solved! I would appreciate any help I can get!

Is this Adam?

Do you have a shot of the front up close, it's hard to see how lowered the car is in that picture. This is the first time I've seen anyone rub with the +30 offset wheels and with the tire sizes you are running, the car must be very low. I would get an allignemnt just so you are able to see what camber you are exactly running, sounds like there might not be enough negative camber if it is rubbing like this. Usually MX's don't run too wide so it's weird that a 265 tire is rubbing like that, check the camber and then maybe consider doing a light rolling of the front fender.

Hey Dan,
It's Adam...you definately have amazing customer service!!! Its a 275 40 18 and I'm going to have my camber adjusted, and I might raise it a little tomorrow..Hopefully adjusting the suspension at my shop can fix this, but if not, I might have to find a 265 40 18 and Kumho does not make this size width. I Love the wheels, they are gorgeous!! Thanks Dan!

Ok Fixed!!(supposedly) we'll see on the track Friday:rolleyes: They had to raise my front suspension up 1/2" (It was 1.3 inches lower in the front than the rear!) They drove it in driveways over bumps with wheels at full lock and they no longer rub (no additional camber necessary). I'll be at California Speedway with the Porsche Club to see what the car does on the Roval:D I'll let you know what happens.

Hey Adam,

Glad to see you are not rubbing anymore. Yea in the previous post I meant to say 275. Subydude runs the +20 offset wheels with 275 fronts and doesnt rub, but he is on a less aggressive drop. Did they put the car up on an allignment machine to see what you camber is though? Might be good to get that dialed in especially since you have the camber plates to do so and with a proper allignment the car will handle really well.

Let me know how your track day goes!
