It's that ring that holds the pressure sensor that keeps breaking off. Although that brand seems like it's got more metal around that ring, making it a little sturdier. Should I go with those or drill. Opinions?

the holes are drilled in the center right behind the spokes if you decide to go ahead with that. i will not advise that. too expensive to mess up and would rather live without tpms if i were in your situation

so i'm fed up with the look of my Volk GT-S rims...and since they don't fit the new "style" of my car i want to change the color of the spokes.
never done this before so it would be nice to know some hints


so this is how the car sits at the moment


i really don't dig the rmc finish on the gt-s anymore...and since the day i saw a DB Z with gloss black volk gt-s i really want to change the color on mine.
but now on to the questions. first would be can i just unscrew the spokes while the tires are on? or do i have to get the tires of the wheels?
then the next one would be should i powder coat them or paint them? i really want a special black metallic (something that stands out) so painting the spokes would be the best (maybe!?!?).
with this rmc finish on the spokes, should i sand blast them before paint/powder coating?
and last but not least what bolts should i use to bolt the refurbished spokes back on? i heard of several companies offering bolts for volk wheels, but i'm not sure which to choose?

Remove tires from wheels then disassemble them, tires aren't perfectly round and with out any center support they will distort the barrel, even with out air in them the bead rings are still strong enough to warp them. Also number the barrel 1,2,3,4 and the same for each face that goes to each barrel, this way they all go back in the same order they were built from the factory. Every wheel is a little different so when they are made they are trued a little after final assembly for the best roll. If the order gets mixed up they can develop a un-true roll to them as if they are bent or out of round. The easiest way to do this is just put some tape on the barrel and number it, then on the center part of the wheel on the back side around where the lug holes are take a nail counter sinker punch tool and put a little ding, 1 for 1 wheel 2 on the next and so on. This way you can get full paint coverage without having to worry about paint covering your numbers. As far as paint goes, who ever is going to spray or PC them they should take care of stripping them as well. Paint will be fine and you can always paint them for the color you want and PC them with clear for the best of both worlds. Bolts can be reused 1 time and still be OK, after that then you should replace for safety reasons.

If you really want to refinish them you can definitely have the faces removed and redone. That finish looks pretty cool though! There are lots of places that can refinish them, like Wheelflip.

The added value of the RMC finish compared to what you will get them repainted will not be noticeable.

I would just have them repainted whatever color you want (plenty of examples in this thread) and let the wheel painter take care of taking them apart and having them powdercoated.

My NISMO's are painted and like the finish better than a powdercoat but the more durable option is to get them powdercoated

well guys since money is thight at the moment i can´t afford to remove the tires (they are pretty old,but not worn....so if i remove them i´ll def. buy some new tires)..so i think i´ll stay with the setup a bit longer

Is it true that the GT-S in 19x9.5 and 19x10.5 sizes now only come in +28 offsets? That's what I was told by a vendor on this forum . Has anyone heard of this?
