Default how hard is it to fix curbed rims yourself?

I just bought a 03 Z with all four rims curbed...i know...but i got a great deal because of that. Can you do it yourself without special tools? Or is it just better to bite the bullet and have it done.

I am just curious, how on earth do you think that this would be possible?

if you can afford new custom rims, do it. If you can only afford to get your stockers repaired, do it. Either way, bite the bullet.

If nothing else and you don't wanna buy new, I suggest a set of used Rays track wheels.

I don't know how to post pics, but the curbing is pretty bad and on all four rims. I have the 03 6 spoke 18" oem rims. On the front two it's almost all the way around the rim...I can't believe someone could park this bad with such a nice car...it's only got 30k miles on it. I would love to buy a new set of rims but I just bought this car so I don't have the extra cash to purchase rims. Also if you buy aftermarket rims I thought that it won't work with the tire monitor? I was thinking that it would cost somewhere around $300 to repair...but by the reaction of some of you it seems like the cost to repair the rims will cost just as much to buy a new set...thanks for the info...

What color is your car, I've seen some guys on here painting or powdercoating them gloss black, looks really good.

If you have a lathe and know what you are doing. Then paint and clearcoat the wheels.

Look up this site:

http://www.autopia-carcare.com/

They have a write-up on how to fix curbed rims (non-machined polished).
