why take the time to find a link and copy/paste it if you can just type up an answer instead?

he's emphasizing the point to use the search function before you start a thread asking a question such as this.

You will usually get the best answer to a question, in the proper forum.

1] Are you the original owner?

2] Does the car have a stock suspension?

3] Has the car been "lowered"?

4] Has the front of the car/front suspension ever been damaged?

5] What size are the tires?

6] What is the wheel offset?

nzpv03 Nov 22, 2006 08:01 PM

1. i just traded another member

2.the suspension is stock

3. it has not been lowered

4. I got into a little fender bender before...replaced front bumper

5. Thses are 19 inch luff M1 wheels
Front 245-40-19
Rear 285-35-19

6. i dont know the offset...=/

tresfifdeeZ Nov 22, 2006 08:03 PM

Did the former owner have this problem?

Was this wheel/tire combo on the car at the time of the little fender bender? If so, did you have the problem before the incident?

The TireRack recommends a 225/40-19 size front tire on a 19 x 8.5 wheel and a 245/40-19 size rear tire on a 19 x 10 wheel.

Wrong size tire/wheel/wheel offset = rubbing

If I've ever had a tire/wheel question, I would always contact... http://www.tirerack.com/about/contact.jsp

Agree. If the tires rub - they rub.

The question is where do they rub and what is a possible solution. With time the tire should show a rub mark. Or you can paint the tires with white sportsmans paint. If the rub is on the inside of the tire, a simple 5mm spacer may be the solution. If the rub is on the outside of the tire, then it might be time for some different size tires.

If one tire rubs and the other is OK, them the solution becomes more complicated.
