Dilemma, just doesn't look right.

Hey guys, I have new Volk rims and unfortunately the offsets on the rear are a little off and stick out further than the fenders and imo just doesn't look 100%.. I was wandering what your opinions are on options I have to make it look better... For more details including pics go here: https://my350z.com/forum/showthread....53#post3508453

Thanks.

I believe the only solution would be a less wide wheel/offset. I personally think you have the best size/offset out there. Once you get the car lowered it will look 100% better.

bam025 Mar 27, 2007 11:09 AM

that looks perfect...I'm running the same setup and it is.....SEX!

three_fitty Mar 27, 2007 11:55 AM

Thats the way its supposed to look, now lower it and enjoy.

I'm running LE37 19x9.5 F and 19x10.5 R w/ 22 offset all around and same tires in the same sizes. Mine don't seem to stick out, but again I'm dropped on Hotchkis springs so they do have some camber.

Your OK, it does look good.

davidf Mar 27, 2007 01:24 PM

+1 on Hotchkis.

+1

Lower it and it will look just fine cause the camber will come in a bit. Love the wheels. Keep them.

joekool Mar 27, 2007 08:32 PM

Thanks for the resonses guys... I won't be lowering anytime soon but when I have the money I will consider it..

Anyhow, I think I have found an answer to my problem, thanks to another forum member suggesting a fender flare kit:
I found one made by nismo here: http://www.z1auto.com/prodmore.asp?model=3...&prodid=845

sometihng definitely wrong...wheel stickut too much

Cheezwiz Mar 27, 2007 08:40 PM

When you have the money? Bah! Lowering is about half the price of what you just did! :p

plumpzz Mar 27, 2007 08:41 PM

I had teh same problem running similar offsets. Lower it and itll be fine.

terrasmak Mar 27, 2007 10:18 PM

Its a great lowrider look , very south of the border. I would suggest a wheel with a different offset.

Yeah I would too if I knew how it would have turned out. But too late now. Rays Engineering have ceased making this rim and is no longer available.. So the option of selling these rims and getting new ones with different offsets is virtually impossible and if it was think of all the money I would have lost with selling 2nd hand rims and buying new ones plus shipping on top of that.. eww it's annoying :icon11:

umzzz Mar 28, 2007 06:35 AM

if you lower it the tops of the wheels will tuck into the fenders a little and it will look amazing with very little fender gap.def dont sell the wheels they look great on your car

Mr_Drifter Mar 28, 2007 06:53 AM

a set of Tanabe GF210's cost a hundred and something total. That would be a much better solution then that retarded looking flare kit.

Dude... nothing is wrong. Just needs a drop to add some camber. i run +22 all around on 9.5 and 10.5 and it did look like that till i dropped it.

joekool Mar 28, 2007 04:11 PM

Yeah I actually had my shop change the camber.. It was between -2 and -3 degrees. It didn't look good as it stuck out like dogs balls on the bottom.. So I had them change it to -1 degree and looked a lot more neat and tucked the bottom in a bit.
