Pics of my new setup - TSW Thruxton's on a Daytona Blue

So... I got these from discounttiredirect.com back in early June and just got around to posting some pictures. I want to give a big thanks to Luke at DTD for hooking me up with a my350z member discount on the wheels.

A word to the wise... My salesman included new tire pressure sensors and said that I can auto calibrate them by inflating the tires to OEM pressure (35lbs all around according to the sticker on the door jam) and driving around for 10 minutes. Well, against my better judgement and listening to the posts on here saying you NEED to go to the dealer, I did listened and, sure enough, that didn't work. I am heading to the dealer tomorrow to get this done.

I just mention the above so anyone else knows that in fact inflating to the oem pressure and driving for 10 minutes (or a thousand miles) doesn't work. I'm still really pleased with the rims and got a good deal from Luke.

Anyway, on to the pictures!

I have a couple pictures before and after the installation of new springs. Here's the setup:
19x8 TSW Thruxton's in the front and 19x9.5 in the back. +20 offset all around. Tires are 245/35/19 in front and 275/35/19 in the back. Tires are Falken 452.

Springs are Tein S-tech - about .75" drop I'd say.

Before the spring install:

And after the Tein S-Tech's (day of install):

And finally, 2 weeks after install:

Good looking wheels.

SuperBlack350z Jul 8, 2007 01:49 PM

looks ok. I was never fond of those tsw's. usually people buy them because it has a huge lip. Keep up the good work on the car.

hey how much did you get them wheels for ? i want them too and the best i've found is like $1600 on wheelsdirectonline.com

ckny Jul 8, 2007 02:09 PM

Thanks for the comments. These are the best wheels I could find that fit my budget as far as I'm concerned. They're not volks, but I don't have volk money to blow on wheels at this time! =)

Vortech - sending you a PM

I think the wheel is one of the most horrible out there, just wondering why I seem to see it so often and why people like it so.

lol.....what a tool. These things dont look as good as the GT-S but there pretty much the same design so i dont see how they can be so bad.

Well, I suppose everyone is entitled to their own opinion but "one of the most horrible out there"? I think that's a stretch. 20" spinners on a Z... maybe. Well, I like them!

BTW - after your comment I rethought things and was going to go shopping for "classy", "non-horrible", new wheels. Unfortunately, fusion-racing.com only has two wheels, both being 5Zigens. Oh well, guess I'll have to rock these for a while ;)

I'll have to get my eyes checked then. Last I looked, the two wheels may have 5 spokes, but there is no mistaking one for the other.

It's not that.. its because I'm pretty sure a few guys with TSW's had the wheel crack or break on them.

Basically cause I don't sell wheels. Too much of a niche market. You're either a wheel place or you're not. Even the 5Zigens are better than the TSW.

You are correct.

If you like'em, run'em. That's all that matters anyway.

lol...one guy, and that wheel had been rewelded previously so it was vulnerable as hell.
