It isn't best for racing on a track but it is perfectly safe, and if your tire just so happens to randomly blow thats why you have insurance! (which i'm sure if it really raised the risk after years and years of people modding their car then it would be commen knowledge.)
Oh and i'm not talking about 235 on a 10.5 I mean practical tire stretching.

they are a little more different, I still wouldn't buy them, but id give people less **** for those than yours, all SSR wheels are copies of popular wheels. It's not a coincidense when all your wheels are very obviously inspired by other wheels.

the whole stretching thing started out in europe, for 2 reasons. a) In most EU countries it is absolutely illegal to have the threaded section of a tire protrude(even 1mm) from the body, it needs to be within the entire fender line. b) in most EU coutries car can only mount manufacturer specified sizes(like the 350z for example would only be allowed 225/45-18 and 245/45-18). Stretching tires became a way around the law and allowed people to mount different wheels. It became a fad/fashion/whatnot eventually... volkswagens (golfs, rabbits, gtis, jettas, etc..) are plagued by these users more than any other brand.
Why on earth would someone want to do that in the USA were you are free to mount proper tire sizes is beyond me. Looks rediculous, and drives even worse.

Contact patch equal to weight carried by wheel divided by pressure of the tire, wider tires only change shape of contact patch not size. and + Hipari is the best EVAAARS!!!

Sorry for bringing this up from the dead... After reading this entire thread I am convinced almost all of you lack knowledge when it comes to tire stretching. It was worth it to read everything, I had a lot of good laughs lmao.

245 on a 19x9.5 will be similar to a 245 on a 18x9.5 i can expect?

Alright guys heres my issue with all this stretch crap im running miro 359's 19x8.5 in the front with 215/35-19's and 19x9.5 in the rear with a 235/35-19 (not that much stretch). Anyways the sideway on the front tire has now completely started to bubble out (I'll take some pics for all you guys later if you dont believe me) I have now deemed them unsafe to drive on because of the amount of shake im getting from them being bubbled out. I now have to put my stock rims back on after running these for 3 months (not too happy about running around on stockies during the summer). Now what size would I have to run so my sidewall wont bubble out if i hit a pothole? I'm thinking 225/35-19's?
