Just bought some 18x8.5 ET 24's.....
....and was wondering if any of you have ever ran 245/40 front and 255/40 rear? They are ET24, so hopefully the front won't look like it needs spacers, but I'm sure the rears would look better with 10mm spacers.
What about running 255/40 18 all around? My car is a base, so no t/c. |
Without VDC you can run just about any combination that you want. I would prefer a little more rubber in the rear but the decision is personal.
|
With the wheels only being 8.5 wide, I believe I'm limited to a 255 out back, so I think I might spring for the 255/40 18's all around, with 10mm spacers out back. Hope I like it. :)

sell those wheels and get some with some better offsets/wider rim. it will look pretty horrible actually if you even plan on lowering.
i personally run 9f +10 and 10r -5, but thats just me... |
last autox season i ran 255's all around on 8.5 wheels, felt very neutral, but yeah broke traction quite a bit under corner exit acceleration, the 255 really couldnt hold it down.

Got any pics of that set up? And i've got a 07, so I expect to break traction even more, but I'm planning on buying sticky 255's, so that will help a bit. And just wait until I get my 4.08 gears with a Quaife.....I'll smoke through 1st and 2nd hehe. |

Cool, nice pics. I assume those are the stock what? ET 30? So mine won't stick out much farther....but I think I'll add the rear 10mm spacers. I don't even need wider than 8.5 rears, as I won't ever run wider than a 265.

also, taken from another thread, apparently from your "track knowledge/past cars/daddy's nsx" youre claiming you basically know it all about tire sizing, so, shouldnt you know the answer to your own question? |
