a few noobish questions--te37's
hi all.. i have a few noobish questions about these wheels i just got.
white te37's front: 19x9.5+22 with direzzas 245/35/19 rear: 19x10.5+22 with direzzas 275/35/19 1: obviously, on stock suspension there's no issue with rubbing fenders... but i want to drop it on springs, about an inch all around, so i'm thinking tanabe gf210's [unless anyone's got any other spring suggestions? no coilovers just yet, too much $$$$] has anyone had issues with fender rubbing with this size wheels dropped on gf210's? i'm actually more worried about the fronts than the rears.. they look kinda tight as it is. ANSWERED! and how badly is it going to wear out the stock shocks? i'm looking at getting coilovers maybe a year from now. car's got a little more than 22k miles on it already [bought new in sept 06] 2: the wheels already have tire pressure sensors installed, i just need to get the car reprogrammed to recognize the new sensors. however... i want to switch out the valve stems to some blue rays ones... i'd have to get that done first, right? can i even get rays stems with tpms??? [told you these were noob questions! who's laughing at me already :p] ANSWERED! 3: do these gt center caps fit te37's? ANSWERED! [PIC DELETED] 4: i know for stock potenzas the optimal psi is 35 [with a max of 49] the max on the direzza's [both fronts and rear] is 51.. how the hell do you figure out the optimal psi? i'm guessing somewhere around 35 or 36 as well...? ANSWERED! 5: should i really avoid driving before getting an alignment? i want to get the stems switched, springs installed, tpms reprogrammed, and an alignment all at once.. i just don't know when it's going to be [in the next two weeks]. will i fucc up my suspension badly if i drive unaligned for about 40 miles/day for maybe a week or two? i might have more questions but that's all i could come up with for now.. THANKS GUYS! |
you should not rub on teh tanabes
my mom has this same set up and her's doesn't rub |
You'll be fine on the GF210's, but if you have the money I would invest in some aftermarket shocks. Also, those GT centercaps will fit... :icon44:

i'll have the money for aftermarket shocks or coilovers....eventually. until then i want to drop the car a bit on springs. |
1. No, you wont' have any problems. I have had the same set up with the offsets and springs.
2. I don't think you can put rays valve stems on the tpms. Not sure though but i don't see how that would work. 3. yes 4. 32-36 5. with that many miles putting it on the car within those two weeks, i would say try to avoid it. |
i would suggest wider tires. i hate the streached look. 245's/275's are to narrow imo.
i would go 255/295 or at least 285 255/40/19 front and 285/35/19 rear. thats what i had and it looked sick |
i agree with you actually, about the stretched look, but they came with these tires and they're brand new. i'll wear them out and then throw some wider ones on there a few months from now.

I have (had :( ) 285/35/19 with the same wheels (TE's 10.5" +22) and I was only lowered on Hotchkis springs and I rubbed. I had to roll...
It's not exact though, because I believe MethodRN (if I'm not mistaken) is running the same set-up (LE's instead of TE's :icon39: ) and he does not rub... |

so what's the consensus? if i stay with 275's [which i am for now] and lower on gf210's [1" front, 1.2" back] i shouldn't rub, right?
if i go wider, even just to 285, it'll rub? [based on majority's experience] |
