A few pics of my new Rota P45 F/R's installed

Thanks go out to Wheeldude here for the good deal on these wheels, I love them! Up front are P45F's in 18x8.5 +25mm offset and P45R's in 18x9.5 with +30 mm offset. Wrapped around them are Sumitomo HTR Z II's 245/40/18 front and 275/40/18 rear. I know I should of gone for the III's but I didn't have the money and for some reason i'm really picky about tread patterns. Also for some reason the caps wrong stay on in the rear, maybe I need spacers, like 5 mm. but its not a big deal to me. Next on my list is to lower the car a good inch, its definately too high and theres too much space between the tires and wheel arches. Anyway i'm quite happy with them, but enough flappity flap here are the pics:

click on that link, look at walkert's old rota's. he went with 9.5 all around to get the concave whell in the front. looks much better imho.

+1 Yes they look better with rears all around. I have strongly been considering these wheels since I cant afford any higher end ones for now. The price is awesome for this. Congrats on the wheels.

I like the concave in back and flat in the fronts... guess its just me then, lol. But I love it the way it is! I just need to get this sucker lowered, and soon!

Any suggestions on cheap lowering springs? I don't want to go any softer, especially in the rear... so same stiffness or more.

Thanks for the feedback guys.

The car looks awesome Mike! I'm glad you are happy with the setup and I'm sure it's working out very well compared to your old wheels. How did your AutoX event go?

Nexx - Mike has the P45 Staggered setup which is 18x8.5 front and 18x9.5 rear. Everyone has a different taste in rims and this is why we offer both the staggered and non staggered setups :)

What's the weight difference in these wheels compared to say TE37 in the same size? Is there much in it?

18" inch TE's weigh around 18 to 19 pounds depending on the width of the wheel. rota 18's i believe weight about 5 pounds more each. thats like losing 200 pounds of weight off the car.

scmtkings4 Apr 4, 2008 05:32 PM

how much was it for your setup? And does it cost more to have the lips polished?

Wow, that much! I didn't realise these wheels were that heavy!

WheelDude.com Apr 4, 2008 11:24 PM

The 18x8.5 P45F front wheel is 22 lbs and the 18x9.5 P45R rear wheel is 23 lbs. Considering the size of the rim this is very good for a aluminum cast wheel.

Stock 18" for reference is 24 lbs front and 26 lbs rear for a smaller rim width.
