19" Axis Hiro's

Hi Guys, I don't think I can justify getting Volks and I saw these and thought they look great. I have done some research and got some advice but I just wanted to check before I order something.

I am getting 19's. So far I am thinking of 8.5's with 245's and 9.5's with 275's.
I thought of getting the 10.5 with 285's but I was told if I am staying NA it is not worth the extra weight and should stay with 9.5 rears. Does that sound right?

What offset is ideal? Do Axis make different offsets for the 350Z or just the one that suits the car. I want this look. I think it is +20?

Hear from you all soon!

If you get the 8.5 front and 9.5 rear, they will not be flush and then you will have to get spacers, which is a no no for me. I will recommend the 9.5 front with 255 tire and 10.5 rear with 285 for a flush/aggressive look.

I have that setup in my car with Volks and love it. The Axis Hiro's are pretty nice wheels I wouldn't mind sporting them myself. They had issues a couple of years back but it was a bad badge of aluminum. They are no Volk quality but they are nice.

Post pictures once you get them. GL

if your hardcore into weight savings the go for 8.5/9.5 if not just go for 10.5

Find another members set-up that is similar to yours.
Duplicate it.

hey big tav if you like these rims arospeed makes a replica of this rim in 19x8.5/9.5 and 19x9.5/10.5 but the company that made them doesnt make them anymore BUT ruff racing is going to carry the same rim under its line by January 2009. Do a search for arospeed gb-x if you like this rim and want them for a good price, I think theres a member selling his for 1000 shipped with tires, buy that intake!!!!!!!!!:p

Yes duplicate this.... Hiro's, with no spacers. This is the last time I'm posting these pics cuz I'm sick of looking at them, even though it's my Z.

I have the 19 x 9.5" front and 19 x 10.5" rears running 255 and 285. I love these wheels. I am in the same boat as you, I wanted a nice looking wheel but couldnt justify the volk price tag.

chad68, whats the offset on your wheels?

305's on the rear are massive! Any issues with scrubbing? Also are the 245's with 305's a bit unbalanced? I read somewhere that is you go to different in the with you get handling issues. Is that right?

Big Tav Jun 29, 2008 06:07 AM

There seems to be a big difference in Front and rear rim tire combinations.

Is there a big difference between these or is it purely cosmetic?
8.5/245 and 9.5/255's on the front
9.5/275 and 10.5/285 on the rear.

Would the second scenario make it heavier to steer? Make the car slower because of the weight?

Thanks,

The rears are 10.5 with a 35 offset.

The 9.5" rears they sell for the Z are 25 offset which means the outer edge of the 9.5" rim will be 3mm more tucked in than my pic.

Plus on the 9.5" your lip will be about an inch smaller.

I had the 9.5's on the rear with 275/35's originally but I really wanted to go with the 10.5 with 305, so I sucked it up bought 2 more wheels and tires.

If you want to run wide tires with tons of all around grip, the Asian owner guy at Axis (can't remember his name off hand) recommends 9.5" fronts with 265's and 10.5" rears with 295's.

That would be my next choice of setups, But when I started adding up the cost of all that rubber I wussed out back then and went with 8.5 and 9.5, then later wished I would have sucked it up the first time LOL

There was a pic of a moded daytona blue that I'm trying to find. I think he's a member on z frenzy. He has the 8.5 and 9.5 setup with no spacers and looks sick, which was sold me on the wheels.

Why are you sick of looking at them?

Ok found the Daytona pics I was looking for. Car belongs to a member on this site. It's the same car pictured on the right of the Op's first post.

They are 8.5 front and 9.5 rear.

Swifty Jun 29, 2008 07:24 AM

i'm just looking for a cheaper wheel in this design with a sick lip. the Axis wheels seem like the best bang for the buck. the lips don't look that big in your pics though.
