CSF Jul 5, 2008 04:22 AM

z2g Jul 5, 2008 04:39 AM

I would have had the same type of question back when I first join the forum since I had NO KNOWLEDGE of cars once so ever. If you stick around and read the forums youll find out yourself..

Easy way is to look at pictures of Zs with aftermarket rims..A lot of people still roll on stock pads, calipers, and rotors. Big brake kits are hella expensive and not needed for daily driving or just joy riding purpose.

This is kinda like asking if you can buy magnum condoms when you have a small penis.

haha funny, but not quite. In the case with the condom, it wouldnt work because.....well it wouldnt fit

but you can have aftermarket wheels without big brakes

I think the OP is making a semi-valid point with his question. I will try to answer it as best as I can understand it.
Any wheel that fits BBK will fit stock brakes. Stock brakes performance is adequate. The only bad thing about them is that the calipers look really wimpy, and anything you do to them will only make it worse. I know it by personal experience. I got a Brembo BBK on the front, and then is a sudden stroke of creativity, painted the stock rear non-brembo calipers red...:icon22:
Anyway, be honest with yourself. If you are not going to shell out major $$$ for 4-wheel BBK, get the wheels that do not show a lot of stock brakes. There are numerous options out there.
Good luck.

Its cool. Enthusiasts can make common mods like wheels and brakes seem complicated. We tend to discuss everything to the nth degree.
