18x9.5 +20 with 275/35/18's in the front
 

is anyone running a set up like this? i know they'll fit in the back with 275/40/18's but i really need to make sure I can fit the fronts with a 275/35/18.. i'm lowered on Hotchkis if anyone has a similar set up or something that is actually lower... please just let me know if this will fit :)

I'm at +22 and could easily do it , just waiting for my 255/40's to wear out. Istan i believe has a very close setup with 275's up front , looks and handles great.

yeah i'm going for the handling and the few i've talked to that have square setups swear by them.. i just don't know anyone doing it with 18's lol and that offset.. they're all running 17x9's with 275/40/17's but with a +27 offset.. i'll pm istan.. thanks

i had 9.5 +20's and tried a 275/35 but it did not work. it could work if you don't drive aggressively or had some really stiff springs. i ended up doing a 265/35 in the front. then eventually swapped out for some +30's. the +30 front/+20 rear is a much more square look(side gap is closer to one another). if i stuck with +20's i would do a 10mm spacer in the rear to achieve a more balanced look and just stick with a 255/40.

i am dropped 1.25" and run 1.7 deg neg camber.

ok.. i'm only dropped like 1/2" in the front lol so it might be doable then?

if you are going to track your car, the simple answer is no it is not doable. it will rub badly on hard corners.

as for driving on the street, you may be able to get by with minimal rubbing.

it will be a bit easier if you really dial in some neg camber. if you have say -1.7 with the .5" drop your camber may be enough to gain the added clearance when your suspension is compressed(hard cornering). obviously this may be counter productive to the added benefit of better handling you are trying to achieve.

hmm.. I thought I was told it would be ok to run this setup (no rubbing). I currently have 18x9.5 +20 wheels on all 4 corners. 275x35x18 Kumho Ecsta MX. Normal driving is fine.

I haven't tried it at the track yet, I thought the noise on some hard exit ramp was just the tires - they are noisy.

I have the COBB sport springs and sways - They lower similarly to hotchkis.

ty very much.. could you try some really hard driving and let me know if you see any issues from rubbing?

Unless someone can convince me otherwise, I'll be tracking it this Thursday with these wheels. I will bring my OEMs just in case I rub into issues.

my camber in the front is right around what you're saying.. so i'm thinking it might be possible then

I won't tell you not to do it, anything less than 255 looks like a skinny drag tire to me.

Track day results - NO RUBBING with 275x35x18 tires on 18x9.5 +20 wheels.
Kuhmo Ecsta MX tires, Rota Torque wheels, Cobb Springs. Great time!

Woo! I plan on doing this set up when I get my rims this winter. Can't wait to try it out. At max I will be doing some aggressive street driving, no HPDE's in the very near future...
