275/40-18 Nitto Invo's installed
Finally getting rid of the stock RE40's and replacing with Nitto Invo's. Took some comparison pics. These are stock 2006 Z rims, the Invo's look great, nice aggressive look. Upon driving away after they were installed, the noise level was 50% less....huge difference in noise, and they just look cool.

Heh...wow, 275 rubber on OEMs? That's impressive, if a bit risky. I may personally go with 265.
|
just curious to why theres more tread on one half from the other
|
Why the 275/40 tire size???
|
Ive seen this personally its looks like a SUV tire on there.. Lifted like a mofo.... I dont understand y people buy wrong tires for wrong rims...
|
Mine handled like chit with them mounted on a 9 inch wheel, once i changed to a 10.5 , those tires really rock. BTW get the proper size wheel, i wouldnt run them on anything less than a 9.5 wide wheel.
|
Glad you're happy with them. I would much rather have loud tires than those.

Overall diameter stays the same. 245-45 diameter is 26.68" with a sidewall height of 4.34" 275-40 diamter is 26.66" with a sidewall height of 4.33" The tire fits fine. Its the widest you'd wanna go on a 8" rim though ive seen and have driven with a 315 width size on a 8" rim but I wouldnt recommend that except for straight line and thats pushing it too. I personally run 245-45 (stock rears) up front. And 275-40 in the rear. The car is so much more stable on turns. I do need to go with a lower tire height up front though but it will do for now. |
If you want stability throw a 255/40 up front and get wider wheels. I run the same tires, at first they were mounted on 9's. Then i mounded them on 9.5's and 10.5's and the tire really came to life. I know for a fact the 275 in the rear on a 9 would wiggle thru a hard sweeping corner.
|
I get some wiggle but thats due to the tire pressures I run.

I like the Invos as well. Just drove from 150miles in the pouring rain too and had no issues at all with slipping. The noise is not even noticable now either.

My rears were on back order and my fronts still are and I needed tires up front like ASAP so theyre on there temporarily until my fronts come in.
|
They mounted with no troubles at all. Remember that the rear wheels for stock '06's is an 8.5, so they bulge over just a bit. Not too much however. No problems with the balance of them either, very smooth and quiet. First glance seems to show me these little honeys are going to be just right.
I fully expected the flames from people, but others (as I was) may want to see more pics of these tires. Good purchase in my opinion. |
So wait a minute....I'm confused ?
Are you running all 4 Oem rims with that tire size ? Please post up more pics of the tires front & back to see what it looks like. Its kinda hard to tell from your one pic far away. |
Fithamoto, no to all tires that size. Just in the rear. 2006 models have an 8inch rim in the front and 8.5inch in the rear. What I posted are only the rear tires, I don't have any other pics showing what you ask, sorry.
|
Wait till you upgrade the fronts :-)
