I'm trying to be cheap

My plan is to use OEM 18's w/ winter tires and buy RPF1's when spring comes around. If I want to have TPS in my winter and summer wheels I have to buy another set (Tirerack is $260 :icon22:). I also will have to have my TPS reprogrammed every year twice a year :icon14:.

I would rather take the TPS out of the OEM's, put them in the RPF1's, and run without them in the winter. Except for the 4 weeks I am home for winter break I only drive once a week. I just want to double check.

Will regular black valve stems fit in the OEM wheels?
Will the OEM TPS fit in the RPF1's?

I should know this since I worked with TPS wheels all the time at toyota I just never swapped them out. Thanks.

Hey Dan i think you should'nt even bother with the TMPS.. Just check your tires every three weeks or so you'll be fine. Dont even waste your money here.
Thats what im doing currently

I don't have TPMS any more since I'm not using my OEM wheel/tire setup and I just check tire pressure periodically the old fashioned way. No big deal. You learn to live with the yellow warning light on the dashboard.

Thanks for the advice guys. I am not going with TPS for my winter wheels but will swap them into my RPF1's since I am OCD.

I use to check my RSX every other week. I guess people are lazy now and dealers need another reason to make money.

yeah ive learned to dislike the TPMS system with all the wheel changing i do....cool feature and all, but damn that alarm is annoying when you dont have the sensors in

You could get one, or two..of these..

CORRECTION: These just screw on from what I see, they could probably be easily stolen so thats the downside..the nice thing is you can swap them out in 5 minutes.

Thanks but I am trying to be cheap, so no spending money. This alarm that goes off does it come through the speakers or from a different source. I could go through the factory manual when I have some time and see if it can be disconnected.
