19's in 255's & 285's?

Hi guys, will 19's in 255/40's and 285/35 fit on a stock 350Z ok? Will I need to roll the guards? My car is not lowered at all. I have come across a set of these 2nd hand and I need to know if I should grab them tomorrow. Thanks.

thats the setup i have on my car.

Well, 18 inch up front and 19 inch on rear (stock rays)

Zridder19 Nov 3, 2008 06:02 AM

Yea it will be fine

DavesZ#3 Nov 3, 2008 09:16 AM

Should fit fine - depends on the wheel width and offsets though.

WELL,
Is your 2004 equipped w/ VDC?
I belive (255/40/19 ) 40 side wall is too tall.
Check the tire calculator.

255/35/19 is fine for the front.

I'm running 255/35/19 on 8.5 F and 285/35/19 on 10.5 R
and VDC is within the required specs (in order to work propertly.)

Big Tav Nov 3, 2008 10:22 AM

I have no VDC.

The front tire is taller than the rear. Is that what you want?

DavesZ#3 Nov 3, 2008 02:26 PM

He's asking if they'll fit - not whether VDC will work. There's a good chance that TCS will kick in on him though.

You want 255/35 and 285/35 if you want to maintain stagger.

Big Tav Nov 4, 2008 01:26 AM

Ok. It's just that we have an M6 coming into work and they are replacing the tyres so they are new so we can sell it. The kicker is there is nothing wrong with the old ones! I can get them for free. They are the standard fitment on the M6 and thought I might just get a sweet deal.

scotts300 Nov 5, 2008 12:51 PM

What wheel width and offset?

Triple8Sol Nov 5, 2008 07:39 PM

You want 255/35 in front. 285/35 rear is perfect

Big Tav Nov 6, 2008 11:02 AM

Ok. I think the fronts will be too big then. I wonder why they run a bigger front diameter tyre on an M6?

scotts300 Nov 6, 2008 11:07 AM

I think they will fit just fine. Since they're "free", why not put them on and try them out? Seems like you have nothing to lose, although 285 is a bit large for your 8.5" wheel.

265/35/18 and 285/30/19.
Stock Rays 18x9 +30 and 19x10 +30.
Fits fine.

He didn't say he has stock Rays. Clearly he doesn't, since he has 19" all around.

OP - what wheels (or at least sizes/offsets) are you talking about?
