p45's opionon

this is kind of continuing my original Konig Unknown thread.... i found a set of p45f 18x8.5 yamaha black with red lip with the tires that are 1025 shipped... it was on wheeldude.com and for some reason their 300 cheaper than other p45s... heres the link http://www.wheeldude.com/catalog/pro...roducts_id=213
heres the offset and some other info
Diameter - 18
Offset - 25mm
Hub Bore - 67.1mm

anyone got any opinion on whether i should wait for a pair of p45r black 18x9.5 to drop down to 1000 or should i cjust go for the p45fs? yea i know its my car and its up to me...but it seems weird that basically the same rim is a good 300-400 dollar cheaper than one with almost the same name.. :P

Motormouth Dec 19, 2008 08:33 PM

1025 is expensive for Rota rims. and also, 18x8.5 is narrow, and that offset sucks.

move along. you can almost, or get quality rims for that price (enkie RPF01 for example)

carvalho360 Dec 19, 2008 08:59 PM

im really looking for a black rim with a red lip including tires for under 1300 :P im on a tight budget..haa

Motormouth Dec 19, 2008 09:34 PM

just a thought but: don't.

that style is soo played and never looked that good to begin with.

Personally I wouldn't go with with a 67.1mm hub bore. You can't run a hub centric spacer since the gap is so small, they don't make one.

PERSONALLY, I think 18x8.5 with 245's all around would be great for a daily driver and the +25mm offset is slightly more aggressive than stock. For a DD that you just want to look better than stock and be set apart I think it would be fine. The offset Nazi's here will scream that those aren't wide enough, the tires aren't stretched enough, and the offset isn't low enough though.

Time attack look is becoming an eyesore..

doesn't wheel dude usually sell them as non staggered sets for about $900???

davidv Dec 20, 2008 06:51 PM

$500 for 4! Someone would have to shoot me before I put a $125 wheel on the car.

The quote he provided was for the wheels with tires and shipping. The wheels alone are on clearance for $500 ;) I typically wouldn't recommend this setup for summer use but for a nice winter set of wheels these would perform very well.

Yes, the larger 18x9.5 P45R model is $900.

This is a clearance blow out price, thus the low price  Many of these sale items were priced well below cost  We had this price up for our Black Friday sale and we left the sale going on select wheels until the end of the year. These wheels are normally $800 for a set. Also the more commonly used Rota P45R is ran on TONS of 350Z with amazing results, just check the Rota P45 thread here

holy hell, WITH tires??

**** it, that is a steal. and yes, for a winter setup that is an amazing deal... I sort of want them now. lol.

OP: next time, give all the details and also if it's still on offer, I would grab them up.

He does mention tires in his original post, and there is no edit time/date stamp on it either.

Good thing for him you overlooked the details of his first post.

So you're willing to sport played out wheels that never looked very good...hypocrite? ;)

+1 on the time attack look being "played".

Otherwise P45R's are very good wheels if you like bang for your buck. I am very happy with my set. 18x9.5 +25 all the way around.

You could do better if you're willing to spend alot more but the returns will diminish with the excess expendature IMO.

M1r4cL3 Dec 26, 2008 03:16 PM

BTW ...

+1 on 8.5 being too narrow. If you are buying rims you prolly want a wider set to accomodate rubber with a greater contact patch.

AllstarE4 Dec 27, 2008 06:35 AM

I think they'd be fine. What size tires come with them? You could probably run a 245/40/18 all around and be happy. :dunno:
