TPMS issue

I got some volk rims and mounted new tires on them.

the tire store tranfered the tpms from the oem rims to the new ones.

they did the BAND method? where the tire a big metal band around the rim.

everything worked great!

but today i noticed that one of my tires was just a little under inflated.

at 31psi. while all the other tires were at 36.

so i went and pumped air untill it got to 40 psi.. and then i would slower let air out untill it gets to 36psi like the rest of the tires.

BUT... the psi didnt go up!!!! stayed at 31... but a manaul tire gauge shows its at 40PSI
wats up wid this?

ps- even drove around the block a couple times.

Either they damaged the sensor doing the install or you didn't drive it far/fast enough for it to register.

well went into the tire shop.

they got it to work so i think the sensors are fine.

one question though..

look at the attached pic..

is the top number the drivers side or passenger side tire psi?

thanks!

F is front right? and R is rear?

also does it reall matter if its like F: 36/34?

or just to anal am i? lol

Normally, the top is the passenger side and the bottom the driver side. Years ago (03,04), some people apparently had them the other way.

Yes, F is the front pair, R is the rear pair.

They are supposed to be accurate to within ±1 psi. So, 36/34 is probably close enough. If the shop is using a cheap pencil gauge, those are terribly inaccurate. A good dial gauge is what you need to set the pressure. with any accuracy.

Well figured out wat was wrong. They didn't put the sensors in the right places. Sooo front drivers side should have been transfered to the same place but was in the rear. They mixed them up everywhere. Got to go again tomorrow and see how they r gonaa figure this out. Are they marked by anychance? Thanks

Are you sure you know how to read the gauge, or properly use the gauge.

Could not find anything on the owner's manual. I thought the top reading was the driver's side. :dunno:
