285/30/18's possible in FRONT??

I recently had 275/40/17 ona 17X9 35mm offset. will 285/30/18's fit up front with the ideal offset?? I have negative camber and the 275's cleared by about 1/16" on the 35mm offset but they had plenty of room up front. I have some spare 285/30/18 Hoosiers laying around so I want to try this for a little R&D

Enkei makes 18X9.5 and 18X10.5 NT03's with 27 and 30mm offset respectively. I think I may give these a try just to see how things handle compared to the 17's.

Nick at NTech Engineering is running 250/640R18 Hoosier racing slicks on the front of his 350Z.

He's running 285/680R18 in the back....

maybe you can call him and ask him to test-fit his 285 on the front to see if it works???

I guess this also begs the questions.... do you REALLY need a tire that wide in the front? How the heck are you gonna steer the car?

My 265/35-18's have a ton of clearance in the front, but I'm not sure exactly how much.

I did notice that the power steering can't keep up in very tight switchbacks on the AutoX course, so I'll probably drop down to 245's with my next set of tires. I've only done one race so far though, so I'll keep an open mind.

Are you concerned about the steering at all? How was it with the 275's?

275's did very well. I had 225's previously and I improved my times by 1.5 seconds with the wider wheels/tires. I don't know, maybe 285's are too wide, only one way to find out!
