help!! can't decide on what wheels to get
2 Attachment(s)
hello!!! i'm looking to buy a new set of wheels for my 06 metallic black 350z.
i'm a college student so i dont have too much money i have a budget of about $3000 for the wheels and tires! i want 20" staggered wheels option 1: axis angle 20/9 front 20/10 rear, 245 front and 275 rear tires! im not exactly sure what the offsets are but i know they are in the 20's option 2: konig lace 20/8.5 front 20/10 rear, 245 front and 275 rear tires! the offsets for these ones are like 35 for the front and 40 for the rears, i believe. but nothing a 25mm wheel spacer can' fix! which one of the two wheels do u guys like the most?? i'm also open to hear suggestions on different wheels! (i know everyone here loves rays/work wheels, i love them too. but i dont have the money :icon27:) |

You can EASILY buy a slightly used set of Volks/Works/Rays/(Forged wheels here) for 3k w/tires, and still have hundreds of this left over. 3k is a good budget amount, most who wanna go cheaper want to spend like 1500 - 2k for everything. I would go that route since Axis Angles only look good on 370Z (car they were made for) and Konigs......well they're Konigs. EDIT: Get what YOU want, though, not what others want you to get. Dont settle if your unsure if you like them. Rem your spending 3k on this dude. Just make sure they dont look completely retarded with horrible sizing and offsets and styles. |

i like the angle style with no lip!! what other wheels like that would look good in a 350z?
and i know i can get slightly used volks/rays/works wheels, for 3k here but, idk i just wouldn't feel completeky comfortable and happy buying used wheels! |
Volk te37's would be the best bang for ur buck. or u could ger rota p45r with tires for less that 1500 new and still have money to mod ur car...

They're good wheels, they look nice, and they aren't that expensive.
You can't get them in 20's though, they have 19's for like $1200? I don't get this wheel stigma here.. everything is about Works/Volks/Rays.. I doubt half the guys who spend $3-4k on wheels and tires are even using them for the purpose they're made for.. |

those volks would run me more than 3k mounted and balanced..... and the rota p45r for 1500??? where? and are they good wheels? why so cheap?
|
damn with that budget u could have such a nice set of wheels but your totally looking in the wrong direction. Look for a nice set with strong offsets
|
The only opinion that matters is yours - do you like a specific look/wheel, then get it.
My 2 cents - don't go with 20's. |

Hit up wheeldude on here... he is a rota vendor
and thank you all for your help! 19's are fine with me, i dont really race, so i dont see the need of getting very expensive 3pcs forged wheels! i like the rota style or the axis angle, i really like those! i have only seen them in one Z, and i like how they look!! i like that style with no lip, but that u can still tell the difference between the front and rear. (:icon43: man!! wheels shopping it's hard) |
Yeah I dont get it about the Works, Volks or any wheel that cost like 800+ per wheel. I mean is ten pounds you save really worth the extra $1000?:dunno:
|
Seach for wheeldude.. Rota is a very good wheel and cheap. thay sell wheel & tire package already mounted and balanced.. then u will have money left to do stuff. but the bigger u go the more ploblem's like gas, brakes, (rotors), tires, shocks & springs. i wouldnt go bigger than a 19'' for sher.

Get some Enkei's

Maybe some
sportmax/xxr 006 or RH evo series or Tenzo R might find something in price range rotas get knocked mainly for copying designs of other wheels but they have nice styles for a good price. some people bash them because they have broken but if you hit any 6" high curb on the side doing 30+ mph (going by one guys testimony) I'm pretty sure your wheel is going to get busted no matter the brand. I would lower the car on stock wheels and spacers and save/hustle a couple more months to get what wheel you really want. Might come into some good fortune. |
Or buy this guys wheels + tires for $2500 and then be ballin' kid.
Perfect wheels right here for your black Z: https://my350z.com/forum/wheels-tire...e-attacks.html Or these: https://my350z.com/forum/wheels-tire...ve-offset.html |
If you like the wheels and they are within your budget go for it. What the hell difference does it make what I think.

i been saving ever since i got the car last august, to get some nice wheels! but me as a student is ridiculous to spend more money than 3k for a set of wheels, when i still have to pay tuition, book's, THE CAR :icon43: .... now im in between still the axis angle and the rota P45R. |
^ based on the pics above, i would go with the Rotas if those are the two wheels you have narrowed it down to.
but i would reconsider buying some slightly used wheels. You could pick up some slightly used wheels w/out tires and purchase a set of new tires. You can easily find a very nice set of wheels in the for sale section and pick up some new tires from a vendor for less than your budget. good luck with your choice! |
