First off let me say if anyone here can help me fix my wheels with stuff I can do at home easily bought at a store. I'll paypal you 50$ . I did look at the Volk sticky and I now know how to maintain them. But first I got to get them in semi perfect condition again. PLEASE HELP!

I made one of many mistakes of going threw the car wash :dunno: I know I know. Iv had my volks for about 4 years.

At first the wheels were not that damaged but in the process of trying to fix/clean them it went from bad to worse reallllllllllly quick :icon6:

your best bet would be to sand that clearcoat off and re-clear it. You could try some kind of polish?

Your looking at countless hours of work.. Pull the centers/ sand/ polish..... :o

Youll want to have the wheels off the car and disassemble them.

Buy a bunch of sand paper...from 400 to 2000grit
Buy some mothers aluminum polish and lint free rags

Sand sand sand till its nearly a mirror finish. Your hand and arms are going to hurt. Use water the whole time. Then polish using the aluminum polish till its nice and shiny.

Keep in mind you now have a bare metal finish that will require polishing every now and again. You could reclear them.

I would try to use a powerball to help buff them or a porter cable and the proper pad.

Polishing compounds may help as well, but youre looking at a very long process.

I would just take them to a reputable wheel repairer and get them recleared.

those cleaners did that? but good luck dude its not gonna be easy

OK I'm going to go buy that today its only two wheels that are damaged. I'll post pics! Has anyone else tried this recently?

So I use that sandpaper and just go at it with water? While I'm at it any tips to fix curb rash?:icon43:

Volks are anodized so the "clear" is not the issue you must have used something with ammonia in it to clean them with (windex or glass cleaners) ammonia is used to remove anodizing....the opposite of what you want. You could take them apart and have them re anodized, or sand them down and polish them. Anodizing will be less maintence in the long run if cared for properly. Once polished they will have to be polished often due to oxadization. You can polish them yourself but to get the factory anodize finish you would have to take them to a wheel repair shop....more money but a better option IMO.

With the questions you are asking I would not try wet sanding them yourself, you might make them way worse than they are. If you do wet sand them I wouldn't use anything coarser than 800-1000 grit anything lower will put deep scratches that will make more work for you in the long run.

Try Zephyr Pro-40 Metal Polish...before you sand and repolish

You might as well get all 4 done or they wont match.. IMO

would want to do all 4 wheels
disassemble wheels
medium - fine steel wool
start with medium and work down to fine
then mag/aluminum polish
lots of elbow grease
