IMO man, i don't think black wheels look right on the sliverstone ( i have the same color),unless they have a polished lip. Gunmetal again IMO is the best color wheel for the silverstone!

actually they should be painted , not powdercoated. Powdercoated OEM 06 and newer wheels like to crack. Seen 4 wheels do this.

I think he meant that you shouldnt change the color of them period (paint or powdercoat), not that you shouldnt paint over powdercoat.

yeah im not a fan of black unless you have other black stuff on the car, go gunmetal. black Zs with black rims look very hot though..........

Do what you want with your car. People are going to have opinions, but they are not more important than your opinion. I like black wheels on any color car. Sorry, don't have any pics of that color combo.

I just painted my wheels black not too long ago and I love it. It was cheap and pretty easy to do.

i just did these a while back with an hvlp paint gun. turned out glossy and are holding up very nicely.

A good reason to have your wheels powder coated is if you have curb rash. No extra charge to repair. I paid 80 per wheel and they did everything. I am very satisfied with the new look. Mine are satin black which is a semi gloss. It will hide imperfections and wear better than a high gloss finish.Tire shine is a must to make it really look good. Picture doesnt do it justice when its clean and has a fresh coat of tire shine.

I agree. If your wheels are curbed and scratched up and if you want to powdercoat em', go for it. Otherwise, keep OEM wheels OEM.

One great thing about black wheels, regardless of them being powdercoated/painted or not, is that they dont need to be washed often. I hate how quickly the OEM silvers get covered in brake dust...

Are you saying that you should never powder coat OEM wheels because the heat curing process weakens the metal and may cause your wheels to crack/break ?
