Got my new flat black Rota SVN's on....

Thanks to Wheeldude for the great customer service and fast shipping. I couldn't be happier with how everything went. I went with flat black Rota SVN's in 18x9/18x10 with a 20mm offset and black McGard spline drive lugs. I decided on 265/35 fronts and 295/35 BFG drag radials for the rear. I also installed Tanabe GF210 springs, Ichiba camber arms/toe bolts and painted my front emblem matte black. I didn't do the spring bucket mod because I ran out of time but I will be doing that asap to get another 1/4"-1/2" drop in the rear. I had a tough time deciding between the GF's and NF's and, unless it settles some more, I probably should have went with the NF's....but it's done now so I'll live with it for awhile. Next up is deciding what to do with the amber side markers. I thought about seeing what clear lenses would look like or maybe even paint-matching them and the door handles PPW. I've also thought about wrapping my roof in matte or glossy black.

All criticism/ideas are welcomed....it's still somewhat of a work in progress so you won't hurt my feelings. I ran out and snapped these pics in between rain drops and I plan on detailing the car and getting some professional looking pics as soon as we have a nice, sunny day.

I don't know if it's my monitor but the only picture where I can even see a little bit of the wheel design is this picture, all the rest it just looks like a black circle where the wheels should be.

white car black rims FTW by the way!

yea werd, cant see wheel at all

ArcticT Jul 6, 2010 12:41 PM

Hmm...I was afraid of that because my monitor is generally pretty bright. It was really overcast when I took these and it was about 8:00 PM so there wasn't much light. I'll try to get some better ones up with some sort of light on them.

Edit: I tried to brighten them up a little but with my limited (read: nearly zero) post-processing skills and I am going to have to take some more with some additional light. I will do that asap so you can actually see the design.

Looks great and I have no issues seeing the details of his wheels..

Can't really see the wheels, but that's a good look'n car :) I've always liked the rear SVNs...not too fond of the fronts; they look weird to me.

BiggieB15 Jul 6, 2010 02:16 PM

looking good but need to go lower IMO.....

diablox1 Jul 6, 2010 02:17 PM

i see the wheels.

MTB350z Jul 6, 2010 02:22 PM

looks good, maybe a little more drop in the rear is needed but nice overall. How did you do your front emblem? i want to do the same but am scared to remove it and then put it back in haha let me know!

I painted all my emblems on my '05 Xterra matte black, I used krylon fusion plastic adhesion paint and it looks great, only complaint is two of the emblems have smalllll chips. But I put 3 coats on each, re applied with heavy duty double stick tape and they stuck amazingly well. No sanding necessary with plastic adhesion paint either.

Flat black FTW!

Here are a few I just snapped in the garage with a little better detail on the wheels.

This is exactly what I used on mine and I did three coats as well. I popped the emblem off, sanded it down with 1000 grit, 3 coats of Krylon Fusion, a coat of clear and used heavy duty 3M 2-sided tape to put it back on. Didn't take long at all.

I agree that I need to go lower. I think one of these days I might go to NF210's but at the very least I will be cutting the rear spring bucket.

What kind of wheels are these knock off's of? RE30s?

dkmesa350z Jul 6, 2010 06:12 PM

Looks great.

omsin523 Jul 6, 2010 06:23 PM

looks good!

MTB350z Jul 6, 2010 06:23 PM

how did you guys pop the emblems off?

ArcticT Jul 6, 2010 06:25 PM

Thanks guys.

I just heated it up with a hair dryer and hooked the edge of it with a screwdriver and it came right off. I thought I might have to use floss to get behind it but it ended up popping right off.
